I should note that this archive is for my extended Wikibreak over the academic year 2007 - 2008 due to heavy school work. Therefore most of the Signposts have not been read (only titles scanned) and indeed some messages have been ignored as likely being out of date. There are also more than thirty titles. Thanks for your understanding.
Hi Sean, please excuse my poor english. In order to get a cloak from you I have registred myself and my E-Mail-Addy. Recently I was due to problems in my real life not much online. In this time I have forgotten my Password on #wikipedia-de. Is it possible to send it in a E-Mail? -- Benutzer:Achates • Achates20:10, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I changed my Nick from Achates to _Achates, I hope that was no fatal error. After reading your message on my dewiki-Usertalk I changed it back. Achates16:22, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Me translating meta? Bad Idea! Unless you think, that exact work is overrated. (Or will I get Assistance there?) There was less Improvent than Improvisation. Achates10:42, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed you are a part of the mediation committee. Please help me out with this vital issue. This mediation request needs to be resumed. The dispute is based primarily on two users, others were later invited. The mediation should not be cancelled due to one disruptive user who has played a minor role. The naming policy has not yet been taken into consideration. This isssue has long been unresolved. Please let me know if this mediation can be continued, or let me know what can be done otherwise. It is very important that this be solved. --Shamir120:59, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Sean, I thought we agreed at the talk page to move the disputed albums to a separate section, so I don't understand why they were removed instead. I'm going to go ahead and replace the information (minus album covers); if you don't agree with this please comment at the talk page. Thanks! Cmprince17:31, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In [this] revision you removed a Bryan Ferry quote, with the argument "Removing unsourced material per WP:BLP based on an OTRS ticket." I don't understand this yet, because the source was right there. (Reference number 21, the original interview as published by "Die Welt", in German.) Because that was the original publication that caused the controversy, I think it deserves a place in the article. Maybe reference 21 was placed in the wrong place, looking at it now I think it should be placed directly after the quote.
My question to you: were you aware that the material was sourced? If not, is it OK if I put it back? If you were aware, could you explain your reason for removing it more? --Pie.er08:54, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm currently in the middle of a PhD at the University of Bath, UK. I'm examining the way that mediation differs between face-to-face, video-conferenced and text-based meetings. You can get a gist of the research from my (somewhat sparse) homepage here.
I notice that you've mediated in number of cases. Would you be willing to spare some time to talk to me about your experiences mediating? It'd help me out no end!
If you'd like some more info, you can leave a message on my talkpage or contact me via the e-mail on my homepage.
I made an edit to a page (ICMI) that has to do with an international congress on math ed (ICME) that I'm helping organize. ICMI is a commission of the International Mathematical Union and ICME is one of the activities that they make happen. Well, a wiki editor (Giggy) used this vandalism tool to automatically revert my edit. What can I do? I left a message but I haven't received an answer. Why would he assume that I am a vandal? I had not logged in, are IP users automatically assumed to be vandals? I'll keep trying to contact him but I would like to know why I was tagged as a vandal? Also, in case he doesn't answer, how long should I wait before attempting to redo the edit? Could you take a minute to give me an idea. Thanks. Echoedgar00:01, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The MedCab bot seems to have not updated the cases in the past several days. Could you take a look at the issue? Thanks! Vassyana15:02, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ideogram has asked me to take over running a bot for Medcab. Misza13's willing to do this for me (since the toolserver staff has not yet managed to approve my account) and would like to use the MedcabBot account. Is okay with you? ~Kylu (u|t) 22:44, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have no clue what the pass is. Would you mind transferring the botinfo files to him on toolserver pls? ~Kylu (u|t) 16:34, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Sean Whitton! You are receiving this notice because the Cleanup Taskforce has been inactive, as a result of this all active taskforce members are being asked to re-register.
If you do not re-register here within 15 days of receiving this notice your name will be removed from the membership list (if you were unable to reply to this notice in time, you can just add you name back).
Hi. Do you know who runs the bots for RC IRCs at irc.wikimedia.org? Since there is little activity on the Icelandic systerprojects (exept maybe Wikipedia) I'd like to request a combined IRC at #wikimedia-is where all projects have a live feed. It would also be cool to have changes to the Icelandic interface at BetaWiki, Commons, Meta and others. --Steinninn03:28, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I was recently approved for Vandalproof, but when I try to use it it informs me that the user list is corrupt, could you help me. Thanks in advance. Samuel18:31, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
We have a serious problem on #wikipedia-da, where the main ops "Wegge" (though no longer an administrator on da.wikipedia.org) made threats towards me and told me to delete certain parts of my user page or he would ban me permanently. Since I refused to succumb to his threats he permanently banned me.
Furthermore, he violated my privacy, by changing the topic to a text that reads "John Doe is permanently banned from the channel due to threats and other disturbing behaviour". John Doe was instead my full name.
I'm trying to set up my IRC cloak. I got the nick, alt, link, and email done. But I can't get the msg to work at the very end of the cloak request page. Everytime it tells me that send is an unknown command. My IRC name is also Rlevse. Can you help? Thanks. Rlevse13:04, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I managed to get into the chat forums, and they helped me get a msg to seanw, now I just need a cloak and I"m in the admin forums. Sean, I just need the cloak now.Rlevse13:59, 13 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sean, query for you here. [1] It would be much appreciated if you could explain the exact relationship between Wikimedia and Freenode, how you came to be a group contact, and in what sense Freenode recognizes this. SlimVirgin(talk)(contribs)02:51, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sean, I thought I'd set myself up to join #wikipedia-en-admins but it doesn't seem to have worked, probably because it's about ten years since I used this gubbins. Could you take a look when you have a moment & let me know where I'm going wrong? Thanks. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 01:20, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, it seems that the bot quit before completing its run last week. Here is the last two weeks' worth of Signpost. Ralbot (talk) 09:35, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
