Welcome to my talk page.

A "courtesy request" for any "third-parties"

[edit]

I have often found that higher quality conversations are possible in what I will call two-way discussions, than in what I will call multi-party discussions (more than two parties). For this reason, for anyone who may wish to join into any two-way discussion here on my talk page, thus making them into a multi-party discussions, I have one simple "courtesy-request":

Please kindly place your request to join any ongoing two-way discussion on this talk page, in the "Requests area" section below, and I will do my best to respond to you there promptly. If either I or the other party to an ongoing two-way discussions on this talk page might ask you to please wait until the two of us have first fully resolved what ever topic we might be discussing, then please wait until the two of us already in discussion can both agree that we are ready to have others join us in our conversation here.

Thank you for your patience in advance,

Are you wiling to say what account you used previously? The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 20:00, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@JamesBWatson:, certainly, I have just inserted that information on the User Page for this new account.

Thank you for that. It certainly suggests that you do not wish to hide anything about your past. I am also pleased to read what you have written on your user page, indicating that you have some awareness of what the problems were that led to your being blocked, and that you intend to avoid doing similar things again. However, it also shows, on the face of it, a surprising lack of knowledge of Wikipedia policy for someone with as much editing experience as yourself. You know how to request an unblock of your original account, and unless and until an administrator agrees to accept such an unblock request you are not permitted to edit Wikipedia. It seems surprising that you did not know that simply creating a new account to evade your block would not be acceptable, the more so since when you created this account you had already had another account blocked fro precisely that reason. If you continue to create sockpuppet accounts for the purpose of evading your block you will be decreasing any chance there may be that you will eventually be unblocked, as it will suggest that you are likely to continue to act in ways that are contrary to Wikipedia policies. You may also expect that any edits you make while your original account is blocked will be reverted, so that you will achieve nothing by trying to evade your block. Actually, I did request and unblock, and was summarily refused without any explanation. Numerous other editors have openly re-created their accounts after a block, and by carefully reforming their behavior as needed, have avoided being blocked again.
