Autobiography

[edit]

Please see Wikipedia:Autobiography for cautions regarding your new article Scott Cruz. --UncleDouggie (talk) 09:14, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Scott Cruz has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

autobio with no real evidence of notability

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:23, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Scott Cruz. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 18:21, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re your message: The deletion process on Wikipedia can be a little confusing. Your article was and is subject to two different deletion methods: Proposed Deletion and Articles for Deletion. The Proposed Deletion was added with this edit, which you subsequently removed with this edit per your prerogative. However, the article is now under an Articles for Deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Scott Cruz, which is different that a Proposed Deletion. The Articles for Deletion notices should not be removed as that is not the way to oppose such nominations. Instead, your opposition to the article may be addressed by discussing it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Scott Cruz.
As for your notability, your Telly Awards and work on The History Channel series does appear to make you meet the notability guidelines, it would be helpful if you could provide other sources besides your IMDB links. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 18:43, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but it is considered inappropriate for such groups to use Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organization for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, please see how to appeal a block. AnomieBOT 03:10, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

This site is too difficult in nature. I wish for this WHOLE account to be deleted all together. This isn't the United States constitution or even a "paid" encyclopedia. There are many self promoted pages on Wikipedia and if you need one as an example, I will provide one. This wasn't a self promoted page from the start. Either way, Cruz gets work and paid regardless of a mere wikipedia page. Please, no more discussion, just delete or remove anything that attributes to this account! Thank you.

Decline reason:

I'm sorry that you feel this way; if there is something in particular you're having difficulty understanding, please let us know and we can try to help you out with it. Unfortunately, accounts cannot be deleted due to technical and copyright reasons. Hersfold (t/a/c) 19:36, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
