Hi Scootsalong. I hope you don't mind my comments. The trouble with your submission is that the references, although plentiful, do not discuss Aaron Barlow. They are almost entirely by Aaron Barlow discussing something else. Please try to find media references that discuss the subject himself in detail. Thanks, Anna. Still, I am a bit confused. I do see that, towards the end of my references, many are to articles by Barlow, but the majority of the references are to pieces about him, not by him. More than half of the references are to pieces about him. Should I get rid of the others, the references to his own articles, and only have those about him? Thanks, and I appreciate the help. Scootsalong (talk) 10:39, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Scootsalong. I would suggest moving references that are works by him to an External links section.

I'm having trouble finding the refs about him. I thought I only saw a couple. Could you please point out the best ones that actually discuss him? Best wishes, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 12:20, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved most of his articles that I mention to an external links section. Anna, perhaps I am beginning to understand what you mean: most of the references are reviews of his books or use him in talking about issues, etc. Only a few are biographies, and those tend to be short. The Sulzberger program page, for example, gives hardly a paragraph on him and the interview in the Chronicle of Higher Education doesn't say much about him personally at all. I was under the impression that emphasis should be on his work more than on his personal biography. I do know that he has been named as the Faculty Editor of the AAUP magazine Academe and that the magazine will be running a biographical article on him in an issue this fall. As I don't find much else that is clearly focused on his biography, should I wait until that comes out to complete this?
Thanks!

Yes, I don't think there are enough refs about him. Please read Wikipedia:Notability#General notability guideline. As for the biographical article, that would count as a reference, but still may not be enough. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:33, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
