I've been nonimating DYKs on behalf of an IP editor because the process involves creating the nomination page; IPs cannot create new pages (or templates). As such, many of the credits below aren't my work; my involvement is creating the nominations plus some guidance around DYK issues.

How in the world is this a DYK for Shachar Segev? Plus - it's awfully weaker than any of the hooks. Beyond not mentioning Shachar. I would think that Shachar Segev still needs the hook that mentions him .. as his DYK was approved. And .. it mentions what is far more unusual - not that he has an Olympian brother, but that he has both an Olympian brother and an Olympian father. The way it ran was a disaster, but not at all the approved DYK for Shachar. How can this be fixed?--2603:7000:2101:AA00:54B:36AA:A773:7A69 (talk) 06:24, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there, I've been away for a few days and didn't have time to keep an eye on things. I didn't even notice that this had been done. I fully understand the need for having to combine some hooks as there are more nominations than the Olympics can handle. At DYK, you sometimes have to let go and let the process take its course; you don't always get out of it what you want. It happens. Schwede66 04:47, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK - I defer to you. You are the master. Thanks. I do think it was a poor change that watered it down to near meaninglessness, and the lack of clicks is the natural result of that, but I will take your lead. Appreciate all your help and advice. --2603:7000:2101:AA00:EDD1:6EEC:9F54:77B2 (talk) 07:09, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
