MatthewVanitas (talk) 18:26, 15 October 2012 (UTC)Question about David Gandy article
[edit]Hi SchoolMarm. I see you've been working quite a bit on the David Gandy page--which I have been doing also. I have reviewed the recent edits and noted that an editor did some work on the article, moving some things around and removing some content such as the "2011 - Present" section. I don't understand why he/she removed the more recent info and not the earlier section of work, but I know he/she is trying to make the article less "advertisy". However, I think the recent/current work needs to be in there somewhere, don't you? At this point, the text about his modelling work ends abruptly at 2010. What would you think about adding a list of some kind, maybe using a table template? It could be sorted by year or by type (ie magazines, clients). What do you think?Kem05f (talk) 18:52, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Kem. I see your point. Let me ask the editor who has been guiding me on the edits. If the info is provided in a table rather than paragraph, perhaps he would find it less objectionable. I think he called it "name dropping". On the other hand, most actors would have a list of movies without that being considered name dropping or adverty--it's just their list of work. I'll get back with you. ThxSchoolMarm101 (talk) 19:14, 8 December 2012 (UTC)
I like the table of magazine covers/editorials. I think it is creative, easy-to-read and easy to update. On the other hand, I do not like the list of clients. In my opinion, it will be too long and boring. I would suggest that all of David's work be combined into one paragraph (adding only the most important highlights from the text which was removed by BGWhite). Good job! Kylie Minogue
[edit]I don't know how to edit material , and I saw your user name at the top of the screen. I thought maybe I could pass the ball to you marm. The paragraph with Kylie's personal history (first sentence) has the last two numbers of her birth year transposed. Leonardecci (talk) 02:23, 26 July 2015 (UTC)
- Leonardecci, I did a quick search and reliable sources (that provide birth info) all state that Minogue was born on the 28th of May 1968 which makes her 47 years old. For example, here's her profile on MTV. Remember that it's not feasible that Minogue's birth year was 1986 as that was the year she started playing the role on Neighbors that launched her career in Australia. Is it possible that you have been misled by an unreliable source? I'm sure there's a lot of inaccurate information out there.
- Finally, (on an unrelated note) you say that you don't know how to edit, but I think if you can figure out how to correctly send a message to someone, you are certainly capable of editing an article. Don't be nervous - just click "preview" be sure you've edited the article correctly before saving your changes. I hope this has been helpful. Cheers! SchoolMarm101 (talk) 16:38, 26 July 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Will Ferrell may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s and 1 "{}"s likely mistaking one for another. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.
