Be aware of 3RR

[edit]

Technically, you are in breach of the WP:3RR rule that limits reverting text, so as to avoid edit warring, in relation to Nations Cup (football). I have no desire to pursue that avenue, but you should be aware of the policy. I can see that you have a rationale for the edit, but if a proposed change is not accepted, the normal course of practice is to argue your case, and try to build consensus, on the talk page. Although it is not a formal policy, I would commend WP:BRD for you reading. Happy editing, Kevin McE (talk) 16:44, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'll take the time to write about the history of the Nations Cup (football). Kevin, if you've got time for such **, I believe you could have some for searching in order to edit that particular page. Otherwise, your so called breach is utterly pathetic since no contribution of yours is brought forward. It's just a petty waste of time. Schlesiermann 22:52, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clarifying your approach. I'll go straight to bringing your next 3RR breach to an admin to get you banned if you have no interest in decent discussion and friendly warning. Kevin McE (talk) 21:21, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I am interested in editing properly with proper pieces of information and proper sources, it's as simple as that. Frankly, do you regard your approach as being constructive, i.e. searching for the editing of the mentioned article? I hope you will understand that. Apart from that, I am obviously not interested in threats and I'll go straight myself to an admin to get you banned if you keep using that language. Schlesiermann 00:06, 26 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What language? I gave an inexperienced editor the benefit of the doubt when they broke the rules, but posted a gentle reminder of normal procedure to their talk page. Your response to this was aggressive and insulting, so I informed you that you would no longer benefit from an assumption of goodwill. Please explain where I have been remiss. Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Jocky Scott may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
 • League season|Soccer Bowl 1977]] finalist with the Seattle Sounders (lost 1-2 to the New York Cosmos in the North American Soccer League.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
