Hello, I'm Donner60. I noticed that in this edit to Pin-ups for Vets, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Donner60 (talk) 03:55, 7 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Userboxes

[edit]

I have been offline since before you asked your question so I am just responding now.

In general, see Wikipedia:Userboxes/Galleries.
Specifically, this is the userbox for "do the right thing":

This user tries to do the right thing. If they make a mistake, please let them know.

You can see that I changed the picture on my user page. You will need to find the template for that user box (possibly on one of User:Saoshyant's pages) and copy the entire template, except inserting a new picture, to change the picture. Also, I am not sure which gallery on the galleries page contains the box. I looked at a few of the galleries and did not see it. I got the template copied here from the general userbox page which shows it as an example.

Wikipedia:Userboxes/Wikipedia/User status has the userboxes about being an administrator, not being an administrator, etc. The specific template on non-administrator is

This user is not an administrator on the English Wikipedia. (verify)

Since my user page is semi-protected, you cannot edit it. I am not sure whether that would prevent you from copying from it (which would be ok with me). The above information should allow you to find any of the ones you wish to use. The general page about userboxes should have all the additional information about userboxes and modifying them or links to more specific information. Wikipedia:Userboxes. So you should be able to go to the originals and get further information directly. Donner60 (talk) 07:03, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am sure you know to look on the edit page for this talk page for the templates, but I will add them here (without the link) as well. {{User:Saoshyant/Userboxes/User oops}} and {{Template:User wikipedia/Non-Administrator}}. Donner60 (talk) 03:25, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jerry Quarry, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Britain. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:27, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I'll try to be more precise. Schickdavid3 (talk) 17:25, 8 August 2020 (UTC) Schickdavid3[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Doniago. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 13:58, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The page needs information on the majority religion in Cedar Rapids. You wouldn't say that if I was adding information about Islam. Schickdavid3 (talk) 15:00, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I would certainly say you needed to provide sources if you failed to do so. DonIago (talk) 17:07, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I am most certainly not a beginner. Schickdavid3 (talk) 17:54, 25 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't say you were, but WP:V is one of the most basic editing policies we have. DonIago (talk) 17:22, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
