Silly Question
Ok......So this might be a silly question, which probably doesn't have anything to do with contributing to Wikipedia...........but you know how on your user page there is that yellow bar on top that has links to other places that have to do with you, yeah uhhh..., how do you get that? Sorry, really silly and unnecesary question!--Obaidz96 (talk) 22:57, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thank You! I'll work on it on my sandbox. --Obaidz96 (talk) 03:38, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

David Archuleta did sing stand by me by Ben E. King. Fool! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.140.108.5 (talk) 00:40, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Maybe he did. I do however doubt that Jeff Archuleta "spanked" him for ineptitude. — scetoaux (T|C) 00:44, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Re:Admin coaching
Sure, I think I can coach you. My methods have updated, been improved, and expanded. I guess I'll see you at User:Scetoaux/Admin coaching! Malinaccier (talk) 01:23, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Disgusted
He and his random sock puppet ip adresses have called me a nigger and a black bastard and all he gets is a temp block, check talk page history all the numbers are similar, hes stalking me and being a bigot. Oh im going to go crazy in a minute. Realist2 (talk) 01:03, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
A report was already made a few days ago by another editer, ill send you the link in a minute, when i find it. Realist2 (talk) 01:10, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
here - i think their all from the same person, he said in one of his edit summarys that by turning his connection on and off he gets a new number or something. Realist2 (talk) 01:13, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
Alex Hall
Did you mean to add a speedy deletion tag to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alex Hall? Did you want to withdraw the nomination or were you intending to add it to the article? --Canley (talk) 01:56, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
apologies
Please accept my apologies for all but disappearing. I was slammed with a sudden unexpected insanity in The Real World (70-hour work weeks and all the stuff of nightmares). Life has provisionally returned to normal. I see you've got yourself set up Maliaccier, who I'm sure will be extremely helpful. If I can help in any way, now or in the future, with something (admin-related or not), please let me know.
Again, I apologize for my flakiness. Silly Real World, not knowing its place ...

Huggle
Yeah, I tried to apply the tag and explain more. But, everytime I clicked on the screen with the App it applied the tag, like 3 or 4 times. So I had to remove it from some other pages manually. I do think we should rename the article though. Just because of the age appropriateness and the chances that a kid is going to search for it. Thought I'd throw that out there. --InvisibleDiplomat666 21:09, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- yeah, i don't know what to say. i was acting in good faith. just zooming through articles. it added the tag at least 3 times to that page, so i had to kill the process and restart. now i'm giving the huggle a break and trying to find the syntax line that generated the problem. and i wasn't attacking another editor, i was pointing out the obvious nature of his statement. i know the policies, there's no need to revert my talk page twice in order to make a point. your first message was enough. its amazing this amount of hostility over trying to protect the encyclopedic quality of Wiki. --InvisibleDiplomat666 21:22, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- 17, hahahaha. --InvisibleDiplomat666 21:40, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- I actually undid several of those warnings. I also undid your revision. If you have a problem with ClueBot's revision, please notify ClueBot and report the false positive. I'm sure I don't need to warn you about vandalism, as you were just acting in good faith. However, gunning me down with warnings is not adhering to a NPOV. And threatning me doesn't work, especially when you're in High School kido. So keep up the good work, but if you're going to go after me you might want to get a third opinion next time. Thanks! --InvisibleDiplomat666 21:48, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

WQA: Twaz
Thanks for your note. It's a fair question. I haven't really had time yet to dig into the details of this case, so please forgive me if I respond with generalities. I agreed to adopt this user, which is an ill-defined rôle, but which I take to mean that I have a special responsibility to help him be a happy and productive Wikipedian. I offered him my help, but there are many ways in which people can be helped, and it isn't always the help they think they need: sometimes people are beleaguered by attackers and need help defending themselves; sometimes people require technical assistance; and sometimes people need help in realising where they have taken a misstep, how to put things right, and how to do better in future. Most of all, people need help in discerning which type of help they need, and in what combination. Regardless of who is in the wrong here, and to what extent, a confrontational approach often makes people defensive and hardens them in their position. My comment was tailored to make it as easy as possible for this user to accept my help in this case, and to seek help earlier in future. I hope I have answered the question to your satisfaction. Bovlb (talk) 05:40, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- RE - WQA | Hey man. I just wanted to offer an apology to you. In the future, I'll take your comments as constructive and not personal. BTW, you seem to be adept at Wiki. So, I applaud your efforts to improve the encyclopedic quality of our database. It seems as if we're working one the same side; but at ends over something that could have been easily solved if we would have both approached the situation in a respectful manner. Anyways, good luck to you in the future. --InvisibleDiplomat666 05:08, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Re: History of Civil Air Patrol
Hey, thanks for dropping me a line. It definitely still needs some work, mainly along the lines of expansion of post-WWII material. It is a start, though. I just wish we had some varied sources. Now, I had no idea that VigilancePrime had been blocked. Considering the reason for blocking, I'm more than a little concerned over the possibility that he might be working within the program with children. But, I suppose that's neither here nor there. — Huntster (t • @ • c) 03:23, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
I am not vandalizing, I am removing bad information!
I am removing inaccurate information and providing a link to a primary source. Most of the license plate articles are filled with bad information, so it is best to link to the various state DMV sites which has the latest and most accurate information. Yuck Flu By Road (talk) 20:00, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Donny Long
Thanks for the reverts. I know who "Jeremy Steele is. He was having a goof, but he's promised to knock it off. Donnylong, unfortunately, really IS Donny Long, and seems Hell-Bent on hiding his own comments while vandalizing the Christian XXX page.
I am in the process of finding wiki-acceptable sources for Long's REAL criminal record. I expect much revision and counter-revision then. James W. Ballantine (talk) 01:49, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Just a reminder that WP:BLP states that "The use of inflammatory edit summaries or vandalism-related talk-page templates should be avoided" when dealing with the subject of the article who partially blanks his biography. Considering the subject is attempting to blank a contentious section that was not properly sourced to a reliable source, this does not constitute vandalism, and your warning was inappropriate. Vinh1313 (talk) 02:08, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Vinh1313, the material in question is from the subjects own web page. I don't see how one can possiblly get a better source than that. James W. Ballantine (talk) 02:42, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
@ Scetoaux: So then this is going to be sorted out by the guys upstairs? Okay, cool. Thanks. Let's see what they say. James W. Ballantine (talk) 02:53, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Requesting an Editor Review
Hi, you opposed my last RFA at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Gary King a few weeks ago. I have decided to open an Editor Review at Wikipedia:Editor review/Gary King so I could receive a new assessment for my recent activity on Wikipedia. I would greatly appreciate it if you could take the time to look over my recent contributions and point out areas where I could improve. Thanks in advance! Gary King (talk) 05:19, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

- It is no problem - a bot should start very soon which will automatically archive all PRs that are at FAC or FLC. Good luck, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:11, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
Re: Your edit to Civil Air Patrol
Are you absolutely sure those claims are correct? If so, then hundreds of articles on Wikipedia need changing from using {[reflist|2}} back to {[reflist}}. Some featured articles even use three columns. The two-column layout renders fine with Safari, Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox (new and old builds), which are the three major browsers on Windows, OS X and Linux operating systems. I'm pretty certain they also render fine on mobile browsers and Opera. — Wackymacs (talk ~ edits) 19:40, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Copyediting Civil Air Patrol
Unfortunately I have some things coming up that will keep me from doing a thorough job on copyediting. I'm going to give it a once-over to see if there are any minor things I can correct but I suggest asking another copyeditor. Cheers, Pigman☿ 02:51, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

I'm so sorry about the RFA. I sincerely did believe you would pass, but it seems that I was horribly wrong. Whenever you're ready, we can review your progress over on your coaching page. Again, I'm sorry. Malinaccier Public (talk) 16:45, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Answering here to your comment to me since the rfa's closed. Yes, you shouldn't discount a possibly valid request even if the person making the request was less than perfect. There's nothing wrong with your answer per se, I just felt it was incomplete. I don't know if you'd make the same mistake in a real situation, since it could just be that you answered to what you felt was relevant to the hypothetical question (that's always the problem with those, and as per your comment). But in any case, you wouldn't want to eg. just block one party for 3RR when the reporter himself was guilty of the same thing. - Bobet 19:39, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Sorry that didn't go as you intended. I don't fault you or Malinaccier for that, it's just one of those things. I hope you're not too discouraged, and I respect that you realized it was too early, early on in the process. I wish you the best. Hit me up on my talkpage if you need anything. Thanks
Thanks, all. My own feelings towards the RfA are pretty much summed up here. In my opinion, I frankly got what I deserved for my own impatience. Say, another few months, and I try again? — scetoaux (T|C) 20:30, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- After reading that diff, I can honestly say I'm very much looking forward to supporting next time, if not nominating myself. Let me know on my talk (if we lose touch) when you're getting that tickly feeling that an rfa run might be in your near future. I'll dig your 'tribs and nominate you myself. Nothing against Malinaccier, but I believe coaching at this point for you is negligible at best and might even prove frustrating to you if it's too formalized. I agree with your sentiment that you should move along from coaching, and should instead use Maliaccier, who I highly respect, as a mentor of sorts to shoot questions off, and in the meantime edit in places that you enjoy editing until #3. - Being an admin isn't very exciting, so you shouldn't start thinking of it as a goal. Just do stuff you're interested in, and if you later feel like the tools would help you contribute in those areas, go with the rfa, it'll pass. - Bobet 20:57, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Argh
{{helpme}}
Please take a look at this page. The text comes directly up against the table, without any space between. The result pretty much looks terrible. FixBunching doesn't work towards fixing this: there is a margin when it's used but the table screws up formatting when clicked. — scetoaux (T|C) 23:20, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- Why would FixBunching help? The problem is that, when the table was moved from left to right (three years ago!) no-one thought to switch the margins round. I've fixed it. Algebraist 23:45, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- OK, thanks! I really don't know very much about table syntax. And about the FixBunching part, I had seen it used in the text of other articles and I thought that was what that was used for, but upon reading the documentation for it I found that it wasn't. — scetoaux (T|C) 02:43, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
