Notability of Green St. Records

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Green St. Records, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Mhking 19:54, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted your posting again because you have not established its notability. Simply being unique is not sufficient, nor is your mission to encourage other student-run labels relevant. Unless you can point to multiple non-trivial references (such as media reports, articles) that discuss Green St. Records and that can verify information about it, it simply is not appropriate for Wikipedia. We can't be the first to document a subject, we only summarize what has already been reported elsewhere. Postdlf 21:04, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Horror show cd cover.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Horror show cd cover.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 22:08, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Horror show cd cover.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Horror show cd cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:42, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
