If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on WHY (Canadian Band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Shirt58 (talk) 15:21, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

One thing that would help is showing coverage of the band in independent reliable sources. Other than the Radio 3 page, all the coverage seems to be the band's website, MySpace, etc. (ReverbNation bills itself as a "marketing platform used by over 900,000 artists, managers, record labels, and venues.") —C.Fred (talk) 17:02, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a connection to WHY (Canadian Band)?

[edit]

I see that you uploaded File:WHY 1.jpg and File:ARTWORK PRISONER OF HOPE 1286499522.jpg, and that you claim to hold the copyrights over those images. Since you are the artist of the band's album cover artwork, it implies that you have a conflict of interest with the band.

Editors with a conflict are not prohibited from editing articles on the related subjects. However, they should exercise extreme caution and make sure that they comply with all Wikipedia guidelines, but especially WP:Neutral point of view and WP:Reliable sources.

If you are not related to the band, it is imperative that you reply and explain how you have the rights to those images, lest they be subject to deletion for invalid license tags. —C.Fred (talk) 17:15, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Sorry I think I misunderstood the way I can use pictures. I thought that because a picture was available on their website or google that it had become public access. I understand now that it is not. I'll remove them right away. I'll re-read more carefully the licensing requirements. I have also been searching for magazine articles and interviews online to add third party sources to the article. I will also continue to track down more third party sources for the article. This will take some time and I request your patience.
