[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen (Sayitrecords) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guideline to avoid editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Danielle LoPresti and The Masses, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. The reverted edit can be found here. Thank you. Bobby122 Contact Me (C) 22:02, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The recent edit you made to Danielle LoPresti and The Masses constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to remove content from articles without explanation. Thank you. George2001hi (Discussion) 22:14, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Talkback

[edit]
Hello, Leeshsters. You have new messages at Bobby122's talk page.
Message added 23:34, 16 October 2010 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.[reply]
This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, Sayitrecords, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. -- Cirt (talk) 15:09, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Here are a few key questions:

Yes, most definitely.

Yes, and if it is inappropriate for me to write this article, please delete it and I'll have a neutral writer re-do it.

Yes, most definitely. The subject in question is indeed quite notable.

Thank you Sayitrecords (talk) 21:45, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. --jpgordon::==( o ) 00:29, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has already been unblocked. Please go to Wikipedia:Changing username and follow the instructions there to make a username change request. Hersfold (t/a/c) 23:10, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I went to Wikipedia:Changing username and read it thoroughly and am still unsure of where to specifically put in the request again. Do I have to ask specific bureaucrats for the change? Please advise? Thank you!

[edit]

Please note that you were unblocked so that you could edit Wikipedia in accordance with its rules, not so that you could continue posting promotional content in which you have a conflict of interests. The rename was not to allow you to cover your tracks or obscure your connection to the band. --DanielRigal (talk) 20:22, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I don't believe I've acted out of accordance. The information I am posting is strictly factual and not promotional. My intention is to only link more articles to this first one so it is no longer an 'orphan.' Please advise if I should be proceeding differently. Thank you! Leeshsters (talk) 20:30, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think it has already been made perfectly clear to you that you should not be editing articles in which you have a conflict of interests, never mind making new ones, however if you are in any doubt please read WP:COI. Making a "walled garden" of articles on the subject you wish to promote is not a valid approach to de-orphaning the original article. If you carry on like this you are likely to get blocked again and it is possible that the articles could be deleted.
I would also like to draw your attention to the policy on sockpuppetry and meatpuppetry as you said "if it is inappropriate for me to write this article, please delete it and I'll have a neutral writer re-do it". Please note that doing this would be a very bad idea. If you induce a writer to write on your behalf then they are no longer neutral or independent. --DanielRigal (talk) 21:05, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well in that case, it's probably best that you delete the article and I'll solicit someone entirely removed from the story to post their version. That ok? Perhaps someone who's written some of the quoted references? Someone in the press who knows the story but is not part of it?Leeshsters (talk) 21:07, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No. Please don't do that. If you do then you and your proxy will both be blocked. As soon as you appoint a proxy they inherit your conflict of interests as they are acting on your behalf. You do not need to solicit anybody to write on your behalf. If the band is notable then somebody you have never even heard of will do it without being asked. Do you think the article on U2 was written by somebody Bono asked to do it for him? --DanielRigal (talk) 21:14, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ok then. Would you please just delete the article? With all that markup, it looks as if the story is false or shady which it most certainly isn't. Please let me know if you can do this? Thanks. Leeshsters (talk) 02:43, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to place {{db-author}} at the top of any page you've created but would rather have removed. This will initiate the deletion process. Regards,  -- WikHead (talk) 03:51, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Dear Mr. Penis Head (album) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you.  -- WikHead (talk) 09:53, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
