You have been assigned Raúl Gibb Guerrero of Mexico. Good luck, Crtew (talk) 17:02, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notability and infobox

[edit]

The infobox is not yet complete. You start your notability statement with good facts with the exception of leaving out the birth date and death date, but it falls a part afterward. The remainder that I deleted with tags so you can still see them didn't advance the statement. Focus on the most important and make your statement is strong and bold. User:Mnloosemor Peer review

[edit]

You give good information about what who Gibb was and what his job was and how it relates to his death. I only found one thing that i thought should be improved/changed and that was when you say "which ultimately led to his murders" it should be murder not murders. The page as a whole is good! Try adding more content, though.

Sawatson1,

You did a good job of pointing to his importance as an award winning newspaper editor and owner. He won the editor award from WorldPress.org later, and the Washington Post article indicated his newspaper had already won awards, but none were specifically mentioned.

Run the "Reflinks Tool". The link for the tool in in the bare url banner at the top of the article. Click on this link and select "open in a new tab." Let it work for a minute. Copy the references from the tool's page after its run and replace the first instance of each reference. This would have been easier to do earlier. You CANNOT submit until this is completed.

Use the references I have added to the "Context", "Impact" and "Reactions" section to fill in and expand them. You could have read the references and already distributed them throughout the article to the relevant sections. Your original article did not make use of all the sources you had available to you.

All of the following mistakes were avoidable: Your original article contained a gross factual error that Gibb's paper had been a large newspaper in Los Angeles, which is now deleted. There is a "La Opinion" in Los Angeles but it's not the same as the one in the Mexican state of Veracruz, which should have been obvious from the context in the references. The section on his "Death" was also too close to the original source texts and the section on his award took text directly copied from the source without appearing inside quotes or blockquotes (it's now in blockquotes). The sections "Context", "Impact" and "Reactions" were empty. Moreover, the lead was filled with words like "major" but didn't say why he or his newspaper were important.

For the map, you will add Poza Rica, Veracruz, Martínez de la Torre, Veracruz, and Papantla, Veracruz, Mexico.

The two peer reviews, above, were not constructive.

Make one more push and then tell me when you think you're ready to submit. Crtew (talk) 06:42, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Education Program: student survey!

[edit]

Hi! I work with the Wikipedia Education Program, and I'm hoping to get your feedback about your experience this semester! In order to help other students like you enjoy editing while contributing positively to Wikipedia, it would be very helpful to hear from real program students about their experience, so we know what to change. The survey takes no more than 10 minutes, and I'd really appreciate your response!

Thanks so much! JMathewson (WMF) (talk) 01:55, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
