overlinking
[edit]Hello Savagecrybaby, thanks for your edits on Sinar Sumatra which I wrote a lot of a while ago. By the way, it's not necessary to link years in articles, let alone repeatedly. See Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Linking#Linking_month-and-day_or_year. Pretty much anything that has been linked once in the intro and maybe once again in the body text doesn't have to be linked again from then on, but some things that are very commonplace and well understood don't have to be linked at all, to reduce visual clutter. Dan Carkner (talk) 16:30, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for being so polite! I will definitely not link years anymore. I guess I get a little carried away with linking sometimes, especially when there is not much to edit. Savagecrybaby (talk) 17:10, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
- That's OK, I started off doing it that way years ago too. It seems logical to link for more info but I guess it goes against the preferred style guide. Dan Carkner (talk) 03:41, 12 March 2023 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Woodoku
[edit]Hello, Savagecrybaby. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Woodoku".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 19:36, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
Peter Pauper Press, Inc moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Peter Pauper Press, Inc, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Maliner (talk) 20:20, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- Can you please tell me which sources are not able to be used so that I can remove them? Savagecrybaby (talk) 20:42, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Peter Pauper Press, Inc
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Peter Pauper Press, Inc, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Bbb23 (talk) 20:51, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- I've declined this one as well and stubbed the draft. Notability is not shown for this company; see WP:CORP for what is needed.
- Importantly, from your edits it looks as if you are connected with Peter Pauper Press or being paid to contribute this content. If this is so, you must disclose it; see WP:Paid editing for details and instructions. Espresso Addict (talk) 23:16, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- I am actually not connected to Peter Pauper Press. I am just new to Wikipedia and am making a lot of new articles, so I'm not really used to the promotional tone rule. I really appreciate you guys helping me learn though. I actually made this page because another page I made, Christine Poggi, links to Peter Pauper Press but there was no page for it so I made one. Also did you see the most recent edits that have been made to this? Savagecrybaby (talk) 23:20, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'd recommend slowing down and concentrating on one article at a time. Christine Poggi might be a good one to work on because I'm fairly sure the subject is notable. For Peter Pauper Press, what you need is several independent sources like the Heller article that talk about the press itself in depth. This can be very hard to find for small specialist presses, I know -- one of my very first articles was a small poetry press. Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 23:49, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- ETA. Not my area, but I think Peter Pauper Press is probably notable. I've added some hits from Proquest/Ebsco to the draft. You can probably get acess to them via the WP:Resource Request board, if you don't want to wait till you can access the WP:Wikipedia Library yourself. Espresso Addict (talk) 01:11, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks so much! Savagecrybaby (talk) 20:08, 5 November 2023 (UTC)

- I've declined this and tried to clean the article up. It looks as if the subject is likely to be notable under one or both of WP:PROF and WP:AUTHOR. The easiest way of proving notability in this case will be to find book reviews of her academic books and cite them. Regards, Espresso Addict (talk) 22:59, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- Of course! Thank you so much for helping me learn as a Wikipedia contributor. Savagecrybaby (talk) 23:21, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
