Your "administrator" userbox
[edit]Hi Sathyan, I saw that you added a userbox that says you are an administrator here, though this is not the case. Administrators are people on Wikipedia who have been given extra tools to help the maintainence of the project. See WP:ADMIN for more information. I removed the userbox because it is misleading because when someone for example needs to protect or delete an article, they may ask you to do the job. However, as you are not a sysop, you do not have the power to do something like that and will cause confusion. Thanks GizzaChat © 07:11, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
Image Tagging for Image:Vaiko1.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Vaiko1.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Image size
[edit]I have reduced it. Read Wikipedia:Picture tutorial for more info. GizzaChat © 11:27, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
Hello Sathy. I saw your message on DaGizza's page and did some fixes. I'm not sure if you meant that you wanted Sun TV to redirect to Sun TV (India), you can do this by typing #REDIRECTredirect to this page here, but in this case you shouldn't do it as there are many different Sun TV, not just the Tamil one. Sathyan Bhrama
[edit]Hey okay...Blnguyen. A doubt ok, how do I earn a barnstar? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sathyan Bhrama (talk • contribs)
- Well, see Wikipedia:Barnstars for a comprehensive guide on the official barnstars. Generally, there is no strict criteria, people give it to fellow wikipedians if they feel that the recipient deserves recognition for their contributions. Although some people have self-awarded barnstars. Out of the Indian contributors, User:Nichalp and User:Bhadani are probably the heaviest contributors, and have the most barnstars, displayed on their userpage. Image Tagging Image:1102341062 icon.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:1102341062 icon.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. PFHLai 17:11, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
==Please Use the Preview Button== I would like to thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. However, it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Thanks again. Signature
[edit]Well, go to the "my preferences" at the top of the page, and you can change your signature. At the moment my code is <span style="border: 1px; border-style:solid; padding:0px 2px 2px 2px; color:white; background-color:darkblue; font-weight:bold">ßlηguγΣη</span> | Have your say!!! - review me . You can see WP:SIG for more technical information, but I'm guessing change my name to your username and then you can change the background or font colour to see how it goes. Regards, happy editing, ßlηguγΣη | Have your say!!! - review me 08:25, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- I meant to say, put the code in the "nickname" box. Regards, ßlηguγΣη | Have your say!!! - review me 08:25, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
Redirects
[edit]On 13-May, you created a "soft" redirect from P.T.R Palianivel Rajan to P. T. Rajan. You should do a real redirect in cases like this. The instructions for how are at Wikipedia:Redirect. I've fixed this one, but if you need help in the future, let me know. Thanks! -- JLaTondre 02:11, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on D.M.K, by Potatoswatter (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because D.M.K is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting D.M.K, please affix the template hangon to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 14:35, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
Another editor has added the prod
template to the article MAPLE chip, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the prod
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 23:10, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
Non-free rationale for File:Ken-uston.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Ken-uston.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. SchuminWeb (Talk) 13:46, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
