[edit]"Perissodactyl" is the official term for "odd-toed ungulate," and was why that category was deleted. If anything, the category "even-toed ungulate" needs to be replaced with "artiodactyl"--Mr Fink (talk) 12:45, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- I would fully agree with "Mr Fink", also please don't spam talk pages trying to gather support. ZooPro 23:04, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Talk:Chlamys (bivalve)
[edit]Hello Kontos, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Talk:Chlamys (bivalve), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The reason given is not a valid speedy deletion criterion. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. — Joseph Fox 15:54, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
- I've done the same with the other redirects you've nominated for speedy deletion; please use deletion discussions if you feel they are necessary deletions, but note that redirected talk pages are not normally speedied. — Joseph Fox 15:57, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
Altered speedy deletion rationale: Talk:Pecten (bivalve)
[edit]Hello Kontos, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I deleted Talk:Pecten (bivalve), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided. The speedy deletion criteria are extremely narrow and specific, and the process is more effective if the correct criterion is used. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. — Joseph Fox 15:55, 23 November 2011 (UTC)

Page moves relating to "work"
[edit]Hello. I notice that you've unilaterally moved several pages relating to the concept of "work". Please don't do that without establishing consensus on the talk pages first. Per the thread at WT:PHYS, these moves were rather controversial, and arguably break some of the wiki's style conventions. By all means join the thread at WT:PHYS#Requested move to make a case for the changes. Future changes should go through the requested move process if consensus for them isn't overwhelming. --Christopher Thomas (talk) 20:28, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification
[edit]Hi. When you recently edited Coccothrinax borhidiana, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hungarian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:27, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
Conformation of username change request
[edit]I confirm that the usernames Sanyi4 and Kontos belong to the same user. Sanyi4 should be usurped (and renamed to "Sanyi4 (usurped)") and Kontos should be renamed to Sanyi4. Sanyi4 (talk) 22:40, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
Hi! you can find the most relevant discussion here. which also links to other discussions. in a nutshell, there are over 2500 stub rodent articles, and 250 start-class. it was thought that reducing the number of pages would facilitate constructive editing and also ease maintenance - looking at categories that huge of "needing expansion" is rather daunting. it was an ambitious task which i frankly left to others due to real life.
I agree there are a couple species which were merged which certainly could easily be expanded upon. Prevost's squirrel being the most obvious. The article existed on it's own for years, and didn't really get any bigger. If you'd like to add more information and create a decent article, I'd love it! --ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria
- oh, and it's agenerally accepted to have multiple taxoboxes on list pages :) --ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 19:39, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
