Halmore Power Generation Company Limited was incorporated in Pakistan on March 31, 2005. The Company has setup a 225 MW dual-fuel (Natural Gas/High Speed Diesel) combined cycle power station located at Bhikki, near Sheikhupura, in the Province of Punjab, Pakistan. The Company was granted Generation License in July, 2006 by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for this Power Project. Power Purchase Agreement was signed with NTDC on April 28, 2007 and Financial Close was achieved on April 30, 2008. The plant is into its Commercial Operations since June 25, 2011.

Technology

Halmore Power is a combined cycle power plant with a capacity of approximately 225 MW (gross at ISO) and 209 MW (net) at site conditions. Project configuration is two 75 MW each, GE MS6111FA Gas Turbines, two Heat Recovery Steam Generators and one 77 MW GE-Nouvo Pignone Steam Turbine.

A state of art waste treatment plant and a Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) are installed to ensure that the plant meets World Bank Guidelines for emissions and all the requirements of Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency.

Kohinoor Energy Limited

Kohinoor Energy Limited (KEL) is a joint venture of the Saigol Group and Toyota Tsusho Corporation. KEL is one of the pioneers of the Independent Power Producers in Pakistan. They own and operate a 124MW power station. KEL is located close to Lahore and connected to the national grid, where they serve the domestic and industrial areas of Lahore.[1]

Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) buys energy from KEL through a power purchase agreement (PPA).[2]

Kohinoor Energy Limited is a 124MW based load IPP consist of HFO fired 8 x 14.5MW Wärtsilä (18V46) Engines and one Peter Brotherhood Steam Turbine of 8MW. [3]
