[edit]
Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Randykitty (talk) 09:53, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

The main reason is that I should have created my own username (MonikAndr, which I've done today) in the first place. So the mistake was that in order to create an article on my company on Wikipedia, thought that the user should have the same name. I am an employee of Sanobiotec, but do not intend to create any promotional content on Wikipedia. In fact, I have already edited 12 or so articles under the the usernames of Sanobiotec and my own, MonikAndr, and am determined to continue with my contributions. Returning to the article on Sanobiotec, I am ready to make all the corrections necessary to make it as neutral as possible. Thank you for your kind consideration.

Decline reason:

No thanks. If instead, you wish to write about subject areas for which you have no conflict of interest, let us know what you'll write about instead. Yamla (talk) 10:41, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

There is no conflict of interest. Or please provide an indication of how other businesses are creating their pages on Wikipedia? Much appreciated.

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 14:31, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

"So the mistake was that in order to create an article on my company on Wikipedia" Are you now claiming this is not your company? Or do you fundamentally misunderstand WP:COI?!? You may also wish to read WP:OTHERSTUFF. --Yamla (talk) 13:10, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You are right and apologies for misunderstanding the rules. Could you kindly delete both users so that there is no more confusion? Sanobiotec (talk) 13:22, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
(No need to put each response in a new unblock request) To answer "Or please provide an indication of how other businesses are creating their pages on Wikipedia?", essentially they don't. Companies don't have their own pages in Wikipedia, independent writers write articles about companies that meet the notability standards described at WP:NCORP. Well, that's the ideal, and clearly some companies' representatives do edit their own articles - but the only legitimate way for them to do so is in compliance with WP:PAID and WP:COI policies. Oh, and yes, there *is* a conflict of interest in the mere fact that you are an employee of the company you want to write about. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 14:01, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

All clear now. Thank you! Sanobiotec (talk) 14:07, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I would like to resubmit my request for unblocking, as I now fully understand the reason for it: the content of the article did appear as promotional. Moreover, being an employee of the company resulted in a conflict of interest, which goes against the rules of Wikipedia. The change of username would not have helped in this situation either. As a beginning of useful contributions, I would like to help out with fixing spelling and grammar of articles that require editing and truly apologize for any disruption and confusion caused. Sanobiotec (talk) 05:11, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

Accept reason:

I will remove the block on your MonikAndr account. Once you log in to it, you should declare your conflict of interest there before you begin editing. 331dot (talk) 09:33, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Do you specifically agree to not edit about your company or things related to your conflict of interest? Do you still want your username changed to MonikAndr? 331dot (talk) 08:49, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I specifically agree. And if still possible, I'd like to ask you to change my username to MonikAndr.
Randykitty Do you have any concerns that are unaddressed or have any other comment? 331dot (talk) 09:05, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No other concerns here, except that MonikAndr already exists (blocked by NinjaRobotPirate), so only an unblock of that account is needed. --Randykitty (talk) 09:28, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much. When declaring the conflict of interest, should I indicate that MonikAndr is replacing the username Sanobiotec or that I am related to the company with that name?

Either one of those ways of wording it would be fine. 331dot (talk) 09:46, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Got it. Thank you.
