Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Sanguedereis, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! May 2024

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Wikishovel. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Ana Reis, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Wikishovel (talk) 13:47, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Kind thanks for letting me know. What is a reliable source to back up evidence of survivors of NPD abuse?
Equally, if you research on the topic 'daughters of NPD mothers' you will find out more often than not, these victims are 'invisible' and invisibilized, because downplayed and 'kept in the dark' for a very long time.
Reasons for not a lot of 'reliable sources' in this case? Exactly that.
Some call it 'conflict of interests', but it's more like 'spotlight monopoly'.
Again thanks for the help. Have a good day, Sanguedereis (talk) 15:25, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, personal information is very often either undocumented or deliberately hidden, which can be frustrating at times, especially for people who have firsthand knowledge of the subject.
One potential reliable source is if Reis has given the information during an interview with an independent, WP:Secondary, WP:Reliable source, such as an interview with a reliable newspaper. Interestingly, there are some notable and popular sources, such as the WP:DAILYMAIL, the WP:NEWYORKPOST or WP:IMDB, which Wikipedia does not consider reliable sources, especially for WP:Biographies of living persons. I will try to hunt around for a reliable source online, though my Portuguese reading ability is rather poor. Best, Wikishovel (talk) 15:41, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please pardon the daftness, how do I send you a private message? Thanks Sanguedereis (talk) 15:53, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's a reasonable request, but following a bad experience I had with private messages in the past, I've made it a personal rule to only have Wikipedia-related conversations on Wikipedia itself. I hope you'll understand.
But please also note that there are many editors who are equally happy to help you with this, most of whom know far more than I do on the subject. At the Wikipedia:Teahouse or the Wikipedia:Help desk you might find someone who is also willing to have a private discussion about sources for personal information. Wikishovel (talk) 16:27, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Same on reverse. Because of personal disclosures etc I'd prefer to be privy.
There isn't one knowing better about the subject than Reis himself - very sadly not among us anymore - and progeny. Perks, and, sharing is caring.
Some of us are not very social, etc and would rather run than join forums.
Thank you so much for your kind help :) Sanguedereis (talk) 18:07, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Wikishovel. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Talk:Ana Reis, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. You've posted the same allegations, also unsourced, at Ana Reis, Talk:Margarida Cordeiro, and Talk:António Reis. These allegations are potentially libellous, and for obvious legal reasons Wikipedia cannot host unsourced allegations against living persons. Thank you.
