1. Brian Cox went to Hulme Grammar School - FACT - See Hulme Grammar school website 2. Hulme Grammar School is NOT in Hulme Manchester - FACT - See Hulme Grammar School website 3. Hulme Grammar School is in Oldham - FACT - see Hulme Grammar school website. 4. Hulme Grammar School is in Werneth (district of Oldham) although the Hulme Gramar school website does not mention the district in which it is located. Confirm by checking out the post-code of Hulme Grammar school- FACT.
I'm no expert but I went to St. Anselm's comprehensive - a 2 minute walk from Hulme Grammar school.
Why do you insist on maintaining mis-information on this page. Please look up these details on the web & see for yourself.20.133.0.8 (talk) 12:38, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
- My apologies for that, the location had been changed to places that blatantly weren't correct in the past and I assumed that further changes were also vandalism, I did a little research and couldn't find any useful information. I'll leave it as it is. Samwalton9 (talk) 12:59, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
That was not an unconstructive edit. They not the creators of the SERIES. They are only the directors of the games. The only creator of the series in general is David Jaffe. That's why I edited. Please, keep in that way. ---- Lemaroto (talk) 20:40, 31 March 2013 (UTC)

Battlefield 4 on PS4
[edit]On the PS4 Wikipedia article it states that Battlefield 4 is coming out on PS4. This is where I got my source from. Consider changing either the PS4 wiki or the Battlefield 4 wiki. Regards FranktheTank (talk) 15:03, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for clarifying. I've removed its inclusion on the PS4 article as the reference merely says that the game "will be coming to next-gen", which is not an official announcement of the game being on PS4. Samwalton9 (talk) 15:08, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
- There are two references indicating this at the PS4 article. The first, as you said, is weak and doesn't explicitly say PS4, though it is certainly implied. The second reference by Polygon does mention PS4 in its opening line. I've reverted your edit for now and will comment on the BF4 talk page. --GoneIn60 (talk) 07:20, 7 May 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Faizan Al-Badri. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Devil May Cry with this edit without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks, Faizan (talk) 11:19, 10 April 2013 (UTC)
- I removed the citation because 1UP is longer accessible after it was shut down - like I wrote in my edit summary. Having now read the Link Rot guidelines, I've found an archived version of the page and will edit the reference to include that instead. Samwalton9 (talk) 11:27, 10 April 2013 (UTC)
Copying within Wikipedia
[edit]Hi. :) The recent Madman bot tag of DayZ (video game) actually raises another issue - according to your note on the talk page, you created that article by copying content from another Wikipedia article. Our content is not public domain. It is licensed for reuse, but attribution is required. This is a simple process once you've done it a time or two; the directions are at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Most of the content from the original is gone, but what we have is still derivative of that text. I've gone ahead and repaired the attribution issue with this article, but please keep it in mind when you split or copy content from one article to another in the future. If there are other articles that you've created in this way that haven't been attributed, please go back and fix the attribution so that we have no copyright issues. If you have any questions, you're welcome to come by my talk page. Thank you! --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:03, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks very much for pointing this out and explaining it! Samwalton9 (talk) 20:50, 12 April 2013 (UTC)

Stub tags
[edit]Please take care not to add {{stub}} to an article which already has a specific stub tag, as you did to Crundells Wharf. Thanks. (Actually the specific tag assigned isn't particularly good - did you notice this and mean to indicate that it needed a better stub tag? If so, apologies, though your edit summary should have explained this.) PamD 09:28, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
- Ah, I was using the New Pages Feed and tagged it as a stub, I guess I didn't read the article properly. Thanks for letting me know. Samwalton9 (talk) 10:01, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

- Regardless, that part of the article is a direct quote, which is ""It's exciting. The whole Frostbite 2 thing has opened up a big landscape ahead of us so we can do whatever we want."" not Frostbite 3. Samwalton9 (talk) 11:52, 24 May 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Samwalton9. You recently applied for a Wikimedia IRC cloak, but it looks like you forgot to register your nickname first. Could you please log on to IRC and do:
/msg NickServ REGISTER <password> <email>
where <password> is a password of your choice and <email> is your e-mail address? After you do that, please follow the instructions that are e-mailed to you to confirm your e-mail address. When you're done with that, I just need you to confirm your cloak request:
/msg MemoServ send wmfgc IRC cloak request
After you finish all of that, I'd be happy to get you a cloak. :-) If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. --Filip (§) 21:08, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

[edit]I was also wondering how to properly credit your editing on the MSS article. I did a copy and paste for the rewrite so your edits are not in the history. If you want you can have someone who knows how merge the history from the sandbox page we used to work on the article User:MrBill3/draft_article_MSS. There was another editor (an IP) who made a couple of changes so by policy the history of the final article should refelct the contributions of all who worked on it. - - MrBill3 (talk) 23:56, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
- I'm honestly not that fussy about being credited in the history, I know I helped write it and I'm not really that bothered about others being able to know. The IP was actually my housemate who I asked to have a read through the article for his thoughts on it, and he is similarly not worried about edit history. Samwalton9 (talk) 21:33, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

Small favor
[edit]Hey Sam, (FYI my name's Sam, as well), Since you seem to be good with screenshots within the confines of the Dota 2 article, I was wondering if you could lend a huge helping hand with something. You see, I've fixed most everything up that was requested on the peer review, except for the in-game screenshot. This is not because I didn't try, but because I couldn't find the right moment that showed clean, concise and critical gameplay. All the scenes I was tempted to include were actually team fights and clusterfucks, (pardon my language). Do you think you could take a go at getting a good screen capture to represent the current form of Dota 2? If you can do this and we can get the article to at least GA status for the time being, I will award you with a barnstar. DarthBotto talk•cont 21:07, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Sam! This is actually something I looked into previously and had similar trouble with. Following the wealth of good games at TI3 I'm happy to spend some time trying again to find a good shot though. I'm away from my computer until Monday but will start taking a look then. Samwalton9 (talk) 21:28, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
- Well, I appreciate that you're still interested in helping out with this. I really believe this is the last step necessary for this page to become a GA. DarthBotto talk•cont 19:07, 14 September 2013 (UTC)
- Also, as I posted on the Dota 2 talk page, I support your second screenshot. When you upload it and replace the one I uploaded two years ago, I'll nominate the article for GA status. DarthBotto talk•cont 19:59, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

Article Feedback Tool update
[edit]Hey Samwalton9. I'm contacting you because you're involved in the Article Feedback Tool in some way, either as a previous newsletter recipient or as an active user of the system. As you might have heard, a user recently anonymously disabled the feedback tool on 2,000 pages. We were unable to track or prevent this due to the lack of logging feature in AFT5. We're deeply sorry for this, as we know that quite a few users found the software very useful, and were using it on their articles.
We've now re-released the software, with the addition of a logging feature and restrictions on the ability to disable. Obviously, we're not going to automatically re-enable it on each article—we don't want to create a situation where it was enabled by users who have now moved on, and feedback would sit there unattended—but if you're interested in enabling it for your articles, it's pretty simple to do. Just go to the article you want to enable it on, click the "request feedback" link in the toolbox in the sidebar, and AFT5 will be enabled for that article.
Again, we're very sorry about this issue; hopefully it'll be smooth sailing after this :). If you have any questions, just drop them at the talkpage. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) 21:29, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Hello,
I don't quite understand the reason why you would like to get that article deleted. I already send Wikimedia Riot Games' approval of using the pictures and source is plentiful. What am I missing? — Preceding unsigned comment added by SeeminglySubdued (talk • contribs) 05:59, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
- My problem was with his notability and coverage in third party reliable sources, of which there is debatably one currently (The gamespot profile), which isn't really good enough. If you can find more then by all means go ahead but facebook and youtube are not regarded as good enough sources to establish notability. Samwalton9 (talk) 10:22, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
