Orphaned non-free media (Image:MTV2OLD2.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:MTV2OLD2.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:23, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (File:NKU Norse.gif)
You've uploaded File:NKU Norse.gif, and indicated that it's used under Wikipedia's rules for non-free images. However, it's not presently used in any articles. Wikipedia policy requires that non-free images be either used or deleted, so if this image isn't used in an article in the next week, it will be deleted.

Image copyright problem with File:WYGY.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:WYGY.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

NKU pix
Hi there, They are great, but being as you lodged then on EN WIKI, not on COMMONS, I can't use them like so on any other language version. Look here: pl:Northern Kentucky University. (if it is not there, it's cuz an unhelpful Polish wiki admin insisted on deleting it. instead of helping fix it.
So it might be parked in my user space as a sub-page. By the time you read this, I think I will have moved it back to Article Space, after making some translations and fixes, but maybe I should wait until you at least move the pictures to the commons.
Anyway... look for it also here: pl:User:Mareklug/Northern Kentucky University.
If you moved the NKU pix from English Wikipedia to the Wikimedia Commons, and you did it all by yourself, and licenced them the same way (cc-3.0 for self), that would be best, as you are author and the move would be easier to monitor and assess and approve ti the swamped Commons admins.
OK? Go to it!
Best Regards,
-- Marek
P.s. I have a while back moved the first picture myself, and someone else has since then (maybe it was you) moved the one underneath it in this English version, the new basketball arena. Not only move the remaining ones, but please shoot some interiors. The interior of the new Natural Science Center is a really cool open space with interior balconies and a funky new exposed elevator all painted NKU gold and black, so you should get my old teacher and current Physics Chair, Chuck Hawkins, whose office is right there, to to pose himself there for you. We need his picture here on Wikipedia. :) And for crying out loud, where is a shot of the oblique glass wall over the Frank Steely library loggia? :)
I also wish for a from-a-distance picture, from the top of the turnoff at US 27, looking down on campus. I think it still looks like a little space ship, but maybe too many trees and sprawl... check it out though. IT's worth having a great over all shot. And if you get Chuck, he will let you photograph the new digital planetarium and even let you on The roof where we used to watch planets via telescopes. A shot from there in broad daylight of downtown Cincy buildings (we did it on the old Natural Science Hall, but you would do it on the new, taller SCIENCE CENTER) would be I am guessing even better and really show off the proximity to the city plus the green Ohio hills would Look great. Take care, --Mareklug talk 02:25, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
P.p.s. In the summer, when the whole valley and the hills are green, try to get an avaition shot of the campus with the interstates and the bridges in the background, possibly Cincinnati skyline... :) :) There are plane rides given usually at Lunken Field.
Redirect of Windows Live Web Messenger
Hi! I noticed you redirected Windows Live Web Messenger to Hotmail, however, there is still no full integration between the two services. The reference within in the Hotmail article liveside.net only states that preliminary dogfood testing has begun. It did not state that it had been integrated with the public release of Hotmail, nor did it state that testing had been expanded to the general public, nor did it state that it had been fully released. Unless you can provide evidence that full integration has been released to the general public, I will go ahead and undo the redirect.
Thanks!

Re: WAQZ logos
Not a problem. WP:WPRS is big on keeping historic logos in non-gallery form. There should have been no reason they were deleted. There is a bit of a deletion push going on and alot of good images are being deleted for no real reason, no policy reason either. You will hear alot about WP:NFCC. There is ALOT of gray area in NFCC and alot of people read it in different ways. J Milburn reads it in a "delete everything" fashion. Be careful in getting into a long, drawn out conversation with him. He will pretty much wear you down until you give up or give in. That is his M.O. I will do what I can to help and if need be get more WP:WPRS members involved if it continues. Please also consider joining WP:WPRS. Take Care...NeutralHomer • Talk • 07:57, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for File:Chooselose.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Chooselose.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:58, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

MSN Mobile merger without asking anyone first
Hello, I've noticed that you merged the MSN mobile page without first asking the rest of the community if it should be merged, and as I can tell only a single person suggested merging before you. Also I fail to see why you removed the Chinese MSN apps from your merger as they are a part of the MSN thereby relevant. --Lumia930uploader (talk) 07:57, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Lumia930uploader, I think I'm going to chalk this one up to WP:BOLD. There was a cluster of information that was a hodgepodge of things that hadn't been copy-edited in years. Lots of redundant stuff. And I put the Chinese MSN apps info in the MSN China article, where they are in context with the MSN China website. I hope this is satisfactory. Thanks --Samvscat (talk) 08:01, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
- Ok, just be sure to make the redirects work like MSN Health and Fitness should still go to the heatlh and fitness section and not the general apps. --Lumia930uploader (talk) 08:18, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
- Also the reason the available platform for every individual app is listed because not all apps are on all platforms and it would look messy to place an infobox next to every app. --Lumia930uploader (talk) 08:28, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
- I will work on the redirects. As for the text for the apps themselves, I did a lot of work to streamline the text there and do a lot of editing for better English, so I can't support just reverting it to the way it was in the old article. I think there is a better way than duplicating all of that information for every app. I will think of a good way to summarize it in the above section and work on it. Thanks --Samvscat (talk) 08:31, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
- Also for the order of the sections I was following how msn.com lists the sections in order. --Samvscat (talk) 08:32, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
- Some thoughts on things like specific providers for each app, and specific numbers: I was trying to get away from including hyper-specific information that changes over time. Like the sources, those lists are always going to be incomplete and changing. And like that figure on 1.5 million bottles of wine. That's from an article published in 2013, two years ago. Surely the number has changed since then, so why are we still including that specific figure now? My goal was to provide a more general overview of the apps' functionality. --Samvscat (talk) 18:28, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
- I highly doubt that your English is better as you wrote "eliminate more dead articles" instead of "eliminated". --Lumia930uploader (talk) 19:27, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
- Wow, I reach out to say thanks on your talk page and this is what I get in return? Not appreciated. By the way, I meant to use present tense. You know, you're talking to a real human being on the other end. --Samvscat (talk) 19:43, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
Non-free image
Hello Samvscat, can you teach me how to upload a non-free image specific for a single page to Wikipedia? like the image you've uploaded for the MSN apps as I'm wanted to include the Microsoft Garages logo on the page. --Lumia930uploader (talk) 08:31, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
- I just checked out the image and it looks like you got it. The fair use rationale looks good. --Samvscat (talk) 14:09, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
