Consider moving your sentence...
[edit]Hi, SJ830. I hope WP editing is starting to feel easier for you. I had a chance to look at your edits for last week. The sentence on education does not seem related to the juvenile delinquency article. Could you move it to a more logical article or choose another fact to include? On your child sexuality edit, could you please revise the sentence so it is not a direct quote, but paraphrased?
You're on your way! Prof.Vandegrift (talk) 03:50, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
Hi Samjam830
[edit]Juvenile Delinquency is a great topic to explore and add information to. I think a lot of these kids get written off too quickly as hopeless. Intervention and awareness is very important to the success of these youths and it is important that we have a thorough understanding of the issue. This is a really bold topic and I wish you the best of luck in developing it through your research. I am looking forward to reading your work. Djansen15 (talk) 23:58, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

Wiki topic
[edit]Hey Samjam830, I just got done reading your user page and think your topic is very interesting. I like that fact that it is local and that it has a personal meaning to you. I think that finding resources should not be too difficult because it is located so close to us. Good luck on beginning this article, and cant wait to see the progression of the page throughout the semester. Thefiveofus (talk) 02:56, 19 September 2014 (UTC)
Proposal Feedback
[edit]It looks like you’ve got a really solid start! I think the next thing to start thinking about is how you’ll organize your information. What kinds of subheadings do you imagine? Will you keep the article’s current infrastructure and just add sections, or are you looking to revise the structure completely?
I might also suggest changing the page name to ‘Gender specific COURT services for girls?’ I think this would alleviate some of the pressure to cover a lot of information and instead just focus on the legal/judicial apparatuses and institutions.
It’s great that you’ve identified places to link your new page to! Because your title is so long, I’ll also suggest that you add sentences to the articles your linking your article to there will be other opportunities for community members to learn about your topic. As we talked about, I don’t think people are going to be searching the name of the page you’re working on.
I think that your idea to research immigrant girls is going to be really useful in incorporating a global perspective. Because of the limited research and the scope that gendered courts are taking place outside of the global north, talking about immigrants/members of other cultures being handled by the global north’s judicial system is, realistically, one of the only ways to talk about a global perspective. That being said, it would be great if you could find some research about restorative/gender specific justice in the global south.
Best of Luck!

A pie for you!
[edit]Samjam830, you have a very thoughtful proposal and some great ideas for creating an outstanding article/revised article. We can keep talking about the exact form your revisions will take, but you have some great ideas about content.
I was particularly impressed with the global scope of the resources you found. Abbey provided you with helpful feedback, too. Your next step is to spend some 'quality time' with the articles. As you look through the sources, you will identify specific ideas to incorporate. Good work! Prof.Vandegrift (talk) 19:20, 4 October 2014 (UTC) |
