DYK for Lahore church bombings

PanydThe muffin is not subtle 13:31, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

Hello Sami,

I modified the article and made the recommended changes to be accepted. Could you please look at the most updated draft: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Nadeem_Bhabha I have already submitted for approval. Could you please have a look since you can read Urdu references.

I appreciate your help.

thanks Nadeembahoo 1:26 pm, May 16, 2015

@Nadeembahoo: I have declined the submission again. It appears to be an autobiography about a non-notable person. Urdu references relate to columns that do not actually support notability. To be notable per WP:BIO/WP:GNG, significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject are required. This article has been previously deleted after community consensus and there is no valid point for approval of the draft as it does not even meet the basic criteria to be included in an encyclopaedia. I would suggest you not to resubmit the draft. Thank you.  sami  talk 03:43, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

Hello Sami, I tried to modify the article. The sources which discuss his work are not only independent to each others but also those newspapers are reliable sources. I'm not able to understand if his work has been discussed in those columns, how it does not support notability? My understanding is that you are able to read Urdu and I request that please read those articles about his work. I know I should not compare with other articles on Wiki but I have seen numerous of article where notability is in question but they are still approved articles.

I really appreciate your help.

thanks Nadeembahoo 11:55 am, May 21, 2015 — Preceding undated comment added 15:55, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

@Nadeembahoo: Other stuff exists is a very silly argument. I will once again go through your draft and thoroughly review the references. Meanwhile, see this article Tahir Adeem, also about a poet and article is being discussed for deletion. There are many other articles on non-notable people that have been deleted and those skipped would soon be discussed for deletion once spotted. Saying numerous other articles exist is not a good reason to add another.  sami  talk 16:04, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

@Nadeembahoo: I have checked your cited references (1-5) thoroughly. Reference 2 relates nothing about the subject and the remaining references do not establish notability. Wasi Shah is a popular poet and see his article is also struggling. Your article has been previously deleted and it can't be accepted without establishing notability and even should it is accepted, it would again go through deletion process and ultimately deleted.

Also Wikipedia is not a place to become notable. I would quote a proverb that describes it all

 sami  talk 08:09, 23 May 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for getting back to me on my article. I do see that my reference 2 was not placed correctly which I will correct. I am in the process of obtaining more matter on the subject and will update it in the near future to meet the wiki standards. I definitely understand that Wikipedia is not a place to become notable but it definitely helps those people who are trying to get information on modern Sufi Urdu poets. I was asked this question numerous times whether I know any modern Sufi poet and that's when I decided to create this page. I appreciate your help. Nadeembahoo 2:05 am, May 26, 2015 — Preceding undated comment added 18:05, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

@Nadeembahoo: Notability does not apply to the content of the article. Thus no matters how much you write about a non-notable person hardly make them notable.  sami  talk 08:48, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

Pasban-e-Urdu

Hi, since you you Urdu, can you write Pasban-e-Urdu in Urdu? Actually this is the title given by the Urdu Academy of West Bengal to our CM Mamata Banerjee. I want to insert it in the article. RRD13 দেবজ্যোতি (talk) 09:38, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

Royroydeb here it is {{URDU|پاسبان اردو}}  sami  talk 11:52, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
Hi, for Murshid Quli Khan article can you write in Urdu the following "Bangal, Bihar aur Orissa ka Nawab Nazim", "Zafar Khan" as well as "Murshid Quli Khan", "Murshidabad ka Nawab". And can you please tell me what "Zafar Khan" and "Murshid Quli" mean? RRD13 দেবজ্যোতি (talk) 09:03, 30 May 2015 (UTC)

Royroydeb:

  1. Bangal, Bihar aur Orissa ka Nawab Nazim {{URDU|نواب اعظم بنگال، بہار و اوڑیسہ}}
  2. Zafar Khan {{URDU|ظفر خان}}
  3. Murshid Quli Khan {{URDU|مرشد قلی خاں}}
  4. Murshidabad ka Nawab {{URDU|نواب مرشدآباد}}

Zafar means Victory and Khan may be used as a surname (for Pathans) (خان/ख़ान) or title (खां/خاں). Murshid means teacher and is close to Guru in Hindi and I am not sure regarding Quli here. Its English should be porter, attendant etc.  sami  talk 22:06, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

20:57:43, 3 June 2015 review of submission by 205.217.108.21

Hi, I am writing a page on institutional investor journals. They have a history of over 40 years and they publish good material in finance. They are cited by many leading newspapers/ articles but they don't have a very strong media coverage. So the page was declined by you for notability reasons. But I added some information related to their being notable and references pertaining to the facts. Could you please review again?

Hello, I would like to discuss Draft:Kaymu_Pakistan in an effort to get it approved.

Hariskhan12345 (talk) 06:07, 14 May 2015 (UTC) Hello Samee, thanks for your contribution on Kaymu Pakistan draft (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Kaymu_Pakistan) I would really appreciate if you could help me with approving my article. What changes should we made and what exactly it needs to finally publish it.

@Hariskhan12345: I had a general review of the draft. Please remove peacock terms to tone down. Encyclopaedic articles should be written in formal, neutral tone. Please consider rephrasing such phrases like a mission to empower, vision and mission etc.  sami  talk 05:56, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for your feedback, we have made several updates to the article based on your suggestions. Updated headings, removed kaymu centric content, changing tone, and adding more information to add value to the reader. I would like you to please help us if we still need to make further changes, or the article is good enough to publish. Thanks again for your help. Hariskhan12345 (talk) 11:28, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
Hariskhan12345 I would like to know what do you mean by we. While the article has improved but elements of puffery are still there. It does not stand per WP:NPOV. I strongly disagree with the very first sentence is the first online marketplace.  sami  talk 13:00, 19 May 2015 (UTC)
@Samee: I would like to inform that I am working with a friend (Sameer) for creating several Wikipedia pages for notable companies in Pakistan. We both are making efforts to compile research and get them approved on Wikipedia for Pakistani people to know about popular companies in country and to create online awareness. As per my personal research, Kaymu is first online marketplace. You might be confusing it with classified Ads websites, such as OLX, as I confused them too at first place. There is a fine difference between following three:
1. Online Shopping Store: Online shopping store has their warehouses, they buy products and then sell on website while maintaining inventory. Example websites are Daraz.pk, HomeShopping.pk
2. Online Marketplace: Marketplace is simply connecting buyers and sellers, you may call it managed marketplace to device processes to efficiently bring local businesses online, market them and bring sellers for their products. Marketplace model is earning certain commission based on sale. Example websites: Kaymu.pk, Umall.pk
3. Online Classified Ads: They are connecting buyers and sellers but not a managed portal. These kind of C2C portals are called classified ads websites. There is no commission involved per sales. Buyers and sellers can simply contact each other one to one and close the deal. Example websites are OLX.com.pk, PakWheels.com
I hope this clears the confusion. At first, we mentioned Kaymu as Pakistani's largest online marketplace, but lately we changed it to first as largest seems more like marketing/advertising to me.Hariskhan12345 (talk) 08:53, 20 May 2015 (UTC)

@Hariskhan12345:It seems that both of you are sharing same account. I might be wrong but if this is the case you should give up. Sharing the same account is against Wikipedia policy and attracts block. Original research is also prohibited per WP:OR. Like I said earlier article has improved but puffery is still there; try to maintain formal neutral tone (write like a third party). Check out other similar articles such as eBay and when you're ready submit the draft for review.  sami  talk 10:49, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

@Samee: Thanks for your response Same. Regarding the account, the other guy who works with me is not tech savvy, he help improve draft on word document and then I made sure to update changes on Wikipedia. Also, regarding puffery, I would like to inform that I have contacted creative head of Kaymu Pakistan, to allow me to use kaymu.pk logo on Wikipedia, I also requested him to please ask any kaymu team member to verify the information about Kaymu. Also, I spend hours to remove advertisement / marketing orient text from the article. I'm not trying to say that the article is best, I respect your opinion and constantly trying to improve based on your input. I will read again and again in an effort to further improve it. Thanks again. Hariskhan12345 (talk) 11:06, 21 May 2015 (UTC)
Hariskhan12345 If only you're using this account, it's fine. You don't need to contact Kaymu for verification purposes. We can use copyrighted logos on English Wikipedia under fair use rationale. You can verify information yourself: any thing that is likely to be challenged should be cited and try to cite whatever you have written and remove the words used without attribution that promote the subject, while neither imparting nor plainly summarizing verifiable information. Instead of making unprovable proclamations about a subject's importance, use facts and attribution to demonstrate that importance.  sami  talk 11:17, 21 May 2015 (UTC)
@Samee: I will continue improving this article based on your suggestions, and to have better drafts in future.

@Samee: Can you please help with this, I think we have a discussion on what I have done. I would really appreciate if you can contribute once again and update me with what needs to be done so that Saqib and other moderators are also comfortable with. For now, the article Kaymu Pakistan is nominated for deletion. I am ready to make further updates to the article but I need a direction. Please help Hariskhan12345 (talk) 06:30, 3 June 2015 (UTC)

@Hariskhan12345: At the moment I cannot suggest you emendations except that try to rewrite puffery statements per WP:NPOV and don't use your original research per WP:OR. You can go to the nomination page located here and comment on the matter.  sami  talk 21:29, 6 June 2015 (UTC)

Qila-i-Kuhna

Hi, it has been many days, since the GA review of Qila-i-Kuhna Mosque was opened. RRD13 দেবজ্যোতি (talk) 17:04, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for the reminder. I have been going through this article and would soon publish the review (in a day or so).  sami  talk 22:03, 6 June 2015 (UTC)

SuperStar (Czech TV series) listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect SuperStar (Czech TV series) to the article SuperStar (Czech and Slovak TV series). Since you had some involvement with the SuperStar (Czech TV series) redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Mz7 (talk) 01:20, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi. Just to let you know, I have withdrawn my nomination and implemented the proposed retargeting via WP:BOLD instead. Feel free to let me know if you disagree. Best, Mz7 (talk) 03:11, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
No objections; you've better understanding on the subject.  sami  talk 05:43, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
