Greens colour

[edit]

Hi, I've responded on my talk page. Frickeg (talk) 06:27, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lee Rhiannon

[edit]

Hi, according to this web page - http://www.veganpoet.com/veganvoices/ - she is vegan. Is this considered sufficient? :S

I happen to know that she is vegan, but it needs an authoritative source and preferably a mention in the article as well. The source you found isn't really up to Wikipedia standards as far as I see it. Sambauers (talk) 12:01, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.170.161.63 (talk) 17:58, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Any chance you can get hold of a suitable pic? Timeshift (talk) 03:12, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have contacts in SA, I'd ask them to upload something themselves here - http://sa.greens.org.au/email/?to=saoffice2010 - Also, if a picture appears on the Australian Greens website for any reason then it will be CC by Attribution, so compatible with WikiPedia.
Where does it say on the Australian Greens website that all images are released under the cc-by-sa-2.0 license or similar equivelent? Timeshift (talk) 10:48, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Lee-Rhiannon-Press-Conference.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. feydey (talk) 23:36, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Drive-by comment re draft

[edit]

Drive-by comment as I'm very busy offline - but two very minor points, both regarding formatting.

  1. Titles should be written with caps only for the first word unless a proper name is used (so eg "Political activism" not "Political Activism").
  2. The citations should use an inline citation template like {{cite news}}. A simple example (for cut and paste purposes) is ref 32, {{cite news|url=http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2003/03/13/1047431150273.html|title=Bidding war has only fanned fears: Greens|work=[[The Sydney Morning Herald]]|date=14 March 2003|accessdate=12 July 2010}}.

Keep up the good work. Orderinchaos 10:38, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thoughts on draft

[edit]

First up - great work, and I look forward to more of this kind of thing! I'll disclose that I'm a Greens supporter too, but I'll try and help with POV (although getting some other perspectives would be essential). Agree with Orderinchaos's points above. Some other thoughts (including some very nitpicky things):

  • Her date of birth should go straight after her name in the intro.
  • Infobox - more fields filled in would be great. Not sure about having "MLC" in the infobox.
  • Inaugural speech in intro sounds like undue weight. Also concerning the lead - some summary of career in Leg Council?
  • No external links inline (third paragraph of "Early activism", etc.).
  • Why is her attendance of the Nielsen memorial notable?
  • "State politics" contains a lot about what she campaigned for, but almost nothing about reaction to this. How did others react to her campaigns?
  • No spaces between citations.
  • Are the committees she serves on relevant?
  • Mention will need to be made of the current controversy - brief, neutral, not undue weight, but it's attracting a lot of attention. Perhaps under a new "Senate campaign" heading?
  • I'm not sure all the subheadings under "State politics" add all that much, apart from artificially making the article longer. These should be able to be merged into a couple of paragraphs, or at least without headings.
  • Some suggestions for further expansion: a section on her role within the Greens, and on her Senate campaign, would be good.

I hope this helps, and do let me know if there's anything else I can do. Frickeg (talk) 11:13, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lee Rhiannon

[edit]

Hello Sambauers, I was wondering if you could explain why you have removed a number an entire section of the article on Lee Rhiannon? I can see you are a supporter but you need to see things from a WP:NPOV. This is a significant controversy which has attracted significant media attention in a number of newspapers. Please take to talk if you want to propose changes, don't plow through like a tank. The controvery sectionhas been at this page for a while, you cannot simply come along and axe it. Thanks, Timbracks13 (talk) 18:37, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I'll bite. The topic in question was adjudicated as coatracking quite a while back, even leading to a temporary lock on the page. The "significance" of the matter was decided back then. I've just been making sure it doesn't come back again in a similar form. You can gather as much by reading the history of this article along with the talk pages.
