Ship Names in Wikipedia
[edit]Names of ships in Wikipedia don't have the periods used elsewhere. Examples, USS Saratoga (CV-60) and USS Illinois (SSN-786). Hope this tip helps! Your first few articles have been really good! TeriEmbrey (talk) 15:46, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
Hey Samantha. I've finished a preliminary event page for Chicago's Great American Wiknic at the PMML in the header's link. There are a number of logistics we'll need to work out with TeriEmbrey and other staff members, but there are couple of questions we should get figured out soon:
- How long should the event be? (We had the event last year from 10AM - 4PM. Because this is a picnic-type event, we might consider gearing it more toward the afternoon, say starting from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM.) Are there other events at the library that day that we should be mindful of?
- Will participants who specifically sign-up for the event be able to enter the library for free or at a reduced rate?
- As this is a picnic, is it OK for participants to bring food to the library? Does the library have any restrictions on food that folks can bring in?
- Can the library provide some light, lunch-type food for the event?
- You mentioned that WWI- and dissent-related topics might be a focus for our editing during the event. Do you have any suggestions about specific articles we might improve or create during the event?
Anyway, don't worry if we can't get answers to all these right now. We can talk about them more when I come on Tuesday-- I should be there around 3:00 PM. Can't wait to meet you and the other interns! I, JethroBT drop me a line 02:49, 15 June 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Carol Reardon, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Civil War and Gettysburg (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
