[edit]Hello, I'm JalenBarks. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Kokomo BobKats have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. - Hey Jalen! Im the current GM of the Kokomo Bobkats. we are trying to get our page current and up to date. SamBeckom09 (talk) 17:43, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
- If you could be specific in what you're not liking let me know. I'm not seeing anything as advertising on the page but I could be wrong. I'm new at this. SamBeckom09 (talk) 17:44, 17 September 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, SamBeckom09. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Kokomo BobKats, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template)—don't forget to give details of reliable sources supporting your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Jalen Barks (Woof) 18:03, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
- There was also a discussion that resulted in a merge of previous content to The Basketball League. See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kokomo BobKats before considering further attempts. Jalen Barks (Woof) 18:06, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
- If what I'm reading is correct. You're not liking the page because I work for the team. What I've put together is the same thing as any professional basketball team. How am I suppose to get a page up on wikipedia that explains what that Bobkats are? We aren't an intity of the TBL. We are our own team. When someone types in the Chicago Bulls it doesn't redirect them to the NBA. If you guys are going to rip our page down then can you help us get something up that is suitable for you? SamBeckom09 (talk) 13:48, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- The article was merged because this team is not sufficiently notable to merit its own standalone article. On Wikipedia, topics have to meet Wikipedia's standards of notability to be considered worthy of an article; either by meeting the general notability guideline or subject-specific guidelines (in this case, the criteria for organizations). The consensus of the discussion was that, at this time, neither of these sets of criteria were satisfied, so the content was merged into the The Basketball League. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:13, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- I'm trying to give you the info to make it notable. I'm the GM of the team. I represent and have all records for the team. How am I suppose to make this a stand alone page?
- Can someone call me? (Redacted) SamBeckom09 (talk) 16:11, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- Wikipedia notability is based on what other independent reliable sources have written about a subject, not what the subject says about itself or records it has. KylieTastic (talk) 16:53, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- You have an inherent conflict of interest, which renders you incapable of being an objective judge of this organization's notability. If this team well and truly meets Wikipedia's notability criteria, then someone else that has no affiliation with the team will eventually write about it. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 22:16, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- You have been blocked by an administrator for disruptive editing. Wikipedia's fundamental editorial model is consensus, and editing against that goal is disruptive. You do not have any right of ownership or control over an article; this is a collaborative project, so working with others constructively within the site's policies and guidelines is required. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 22:23, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hello all. I don't know who can see this and who can help. I need someone to help us get this page up and functional. All of the info on here is 100% accurate. maybe not worded the best but accurate. The TBL does not want our page linked anymore and neither do the owners of the team. Can any of you who are so quick at blocking and taking the page down help? SamBeckom09 (talk) 14:42, 20 September 2024 (UTC)

Since your account is blocked, the only thing you should be using this talk page for is to appeal your block with the {{unblock}}
template, as described above. You will have to convince the reviewing administrators that you understand what behaviour led to the block, and what you will do differently if unblocked. Your motives here should be to achieve consensus, not to get your own way.
The wishes of the team owners, the league, or anyone connected with them have no bearing on the presence or absence of articles here. If a team is notable enough for a standalone article, it will have one. If it isn't, it won't. The redirect to the league article is a reasonable compromise if someone searches the team name. If you have a contrary point of view, then the proper place to raise that is at Talk:The Basketball League - after you are unblocked. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 19:16, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
