Marvin Morgan
[edit]Hello: I've reverted your edits at Marvin Morgan. Since the subject of the article is a living person, we require that claims about the subject are cited in a reliable source. If you have a reference for your claim, you can discuss it at the article's talk page or I can help with adding the citation to the article. - Hello, was the bit I wrote about his fashion label removed? I didn't place any reference in as I fear it may have been classed as promoting it Salopian123 (talk) 21:36, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- If there is an article in a local newspaper (or other publication) about Morgan's participation in such a venture, then that would be both safe and interesting to include. Regards, Orange Suede Sofa (talk) 22:06, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
Thanks .. is this a suitable reference? http://www.shropshirestar.com/news/2011/09/07/shrewsbury-town-striker-marvin-swaps-pitch-for-catwalk/
If so can you revert? I'm on a mobile and it is seeming difficult

- Perfect. I've restored your original text and added the reference here. Regards, Orange Suede Sofa (talk) 23:13, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
Rene Howe
[edit]I can understand a Shrewsbury supporter being annoyed about one of your players being crocked in a pre season friendly. I cannot understand how you believe that this is at all relevant to a brief biography of Howe. As far as Howe is concerned, there was a sending off in a pre season friendly. Woop-di woo. That is not biographically relevant. Your text is full of POV description, unsourced accusation, and evident bad-blood towards the man. That is in no way encyclopaedic. What on earth is the relevance of a match against Arsenal?
Remove this yourself from the Howe article, because I am not willing to get a 3RR violation over such a daft addition, or I shall have to ask editors at WT:FOOTY to remove it, and that will not reflect well on you as an editor. Would you really want to defend that text in such a forum? Kevin McE (talk) 09:45, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- Firstly, new posts go at the bottom of a talk page, not at the top. You should sign all posts on talk pages with four tildes.
- I apologise for the false assumption that it was in a pre-season friendly. You provided no date information, and I assumed, wrongly, that it was recent.
- Can you really not answer for yourself why it is not relevant to the Howe article? Of course it is relevant to the Hazell article (I'll look in to check that it is presented in a suitable tone there presently), it affected his whole season: in isolation from other yellow cards, it would have had no relevance at all to Howe's week, yet alone his season. It refers to an Arsenal match that he had no interest in, it is in appallingly informal tone ("Shrews"), it is grossly opinionated, and it revolves around an offence for which the sanction was a yellow card. And you honestly believe that this deserves a full section???
- I invite you again to consider how you will look in the eyes of the WT:Footy community if I raise the edits there. Kevin McE (talk) 10:49, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- I acknowledge your attempts to make it more relevant. However, I invite you to try to look at it from the point of view of someone with no particular interest of STFC or Reuben Hazell. Out of all of the bookings this guy has had in his career, this one lead to a minor moan in a local paper that Howe probably never read. Why is that, in the context of the life and career of Rene Howe, important enough to have a section longer than the description of the months that he spent at Gillingham, Bristol, Rushden or Torquay? Do you think Howe thought twice about the incident? Did it have any long term impact on him? Kevin McE (talk) 11:19, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- If you were one of my students I would have taken you to task over the original use of capital letters and punctuation, not to mention signing off with a kiss and using an abbreviation of my name that no-one has used habitually in about 35 years. Happy editing. Kevin McE (talk) 13:54, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 11
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Andrew Mangan, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Chelsea and Everton. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
