Hello, Sal2100

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Vermont and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Ken Armstrong (U.S. Coast Guard officer), should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ken Armstrong (U.S. Coast Guard officer).

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Vermont}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Gary's concession speech

@Sal2100: I saw that you deleted my addition to Gary Johnson 2016 presidential campaign, because it wasn't his actual concession speech and the source wasn't RS. Can you tell me i can view Gary's (and possibly Stein's) concession speech online? When i added that i had searched for both Johnson and Stein's concession speeches, and the non-RS i used was the only result i found. By the way, it wasn't trolling, the source genuinely had me fooled. Koopinator (talk) 10:06, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

I couldn't find it either just now, but I distinctly remember watching the video of Johnson's 2016 election night speech with Bill Weld on the internet a while back. I can assure you it was nothing at all like what the BuzzSaw piece "reported". The video now seems to have disappeared from the web, for whatever reason. Anyway, thanks for responding and clarifying. It's good to know that this was an honest mistake and not blantant trolling. Some of these satirical sites can be very clever, and can pass themselves off as legit if you're not careful. I guess it's a good reminder to vet the sources carefully, especially if they're not established and well-known publications, before using them to cite content on Wikipedia. When in doubt, it's always a good idea to check out the "about us" section.Sal2100 (talk) 20:42, 14 January 2020 (UTC)

July 2021

Information icon Hi Sal2100! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Spike Cohen that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. ― Tartan357 Talk 21:14, 19 July 2021 (UTC)
