LOVE your userpage
hello..im a new user to Wikipedia and started working on my userpage...I viewed your user page and got really inspired by it. Hence i have taken help from it. can you guide me as to how i can place those editor badges on top of my page like you have and guide me further if possibe?
Pixarh (talk) 17:12, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
- Hi friend! It is indeed nice to hear you praise my userpage. I have always enjoyed helping newbies. Sure, you have given an awesome start to your userpage! Of course, you need not construct a userpage ditto to mine, you can evolve your own new designs in your own way! In fact, I began with this style after I saw another similarly designed userpage, just as you! Wikipedia provides you help at WP:UPH, that's where I learned several of these tactics. Anyway, I would like to guide you with some things:
- For a start, do not make your userpage as large as mine. It would be too complicated, and you may not get all the things you need for expanding it.
- I am sure you would enjoy userboxes. You can go to Wikipedia:Userboxes/Gallery to choose from thousands of userboxes. You can even construct your own. If you are interested to know how, do let me know. Why don't you arrange userboxes within your userpage as I have done in User:Sainsf/Userboxes?
- To grab interesting features to spice up your userpage, I would recommend a visit to WP:UPH/Hall of Fame so that you can look at varieties of userpages loaded with countless features.
- Special help for those badges. It is actually an uphill task, and I may not be able to explain it very well. If you don't mind, could you let me know what topicons (as I call them) you would like to have on your userpage so that I may be able to prepare them for you? For example, if you love editing articles on books, or want to state that you are a newbie, anything as such. Just let me know your ideas and I might be able to help you. You cannot copy my topicons since they of course do not apply to you.
- Once again thanks for appreciating my userpage. It is indeed joyful to have a wonderful userpage, and I would love to make you happy by providing you with your own fabulous one, maybe even better than mine! Cheers! Sainsf <^>Talk all words 04:42, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- Hey friend :)
- I am so pleased to get a reply from you and relieved that Wikipedia editors are so friendly and welcoming :)Very helpful guidelines indeed and interesting too ! I am going through each one and working on my userpage. I also checked WP:UPH/Hall of Fame and it had quite a lot of unique design layouts. I am now working on making my page unique so that it does not seem ditto to yours but seriously yours is by far the most interesting in the Hall of Fame :). I just added a few userboxes according to my interests. Please review them and see if they can be improved even layout wise. Also, I would be very grateful if you can give me topicons :)Temporarily whatever you deem fit for me. By now you do have an idea about me and my passion for editing :) Yes, I like editing articles related to books, biographies and even art. Though with special reference to mysticism. As a start any topicon that you think would suit me. You can make an easier judgement by viewing my userpage. Thank you for all the help my friend :) Pixarh (talk) 16:53, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Pixarh, you are surely a promising Wikipedian! Well, I must admit that it is designing my userpage that fascinates me more than editing! I have assembled your userboxes in a better manner, now you can add as many as you like by putting a "|-" after every fourth userbox. Analyzing your userboxes I have tried to design some topicons for you. Do let me know how you like them. Sainsf <^>Talk all words 04:42, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
- I have got some interesting pages for you in Wikipedia:
- Wikipedia:Teahouse welcoming for newbies!
- Wikipedia:The Wikipedia Adventure a perfect and encouraging tutorial for you.
- List of colors: A-F, G-M, N-Z. This is very interesting, because now you can choose any colour you like for your userpage. You may change border colours, font colours with help from the User Page Design Center. All you have to do is choose your colour and put its code in the syntax. For example, #B0BF1A is the code for Acid Green.
- Wikipedia:Barnstars To know how to adore other Wikipedians.
- See the page Category:WikiProject Department of Fun. Full of funny and amusing articles and games! Also see Wikipedia:Department of Fun.
- Hope you enjoy your time in Wikipedia, and do join in editing! The more you edit, the more shall be your achievements and the more shall you get to adorn your userpage with! Sainsf <^>Talk all words 04:57, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
- Interesting insights as always ! Surely, I have just discovered that you are so right. Designing one's userpage is extremely fascinating and takes less time every time an improvement level is reached. Thank you for assembling my userboxes in a proper way. The topicons are just what I needed for a newbie boost-up :) They are quite suitable according to my areas of expertise. I went through Wikipedia:Teahouse and I does seem very organized and I shall place up my questions soon as my editing grows. Just checked the List of colors: A-F and surprised to see such a vast variety of colors. :)
- I am a little uncertain as to how I can participate in the Category:WikiProject Department of Fun . As to how it works.
I have started looking up on articles that interest me and a little editing. There is a world or articles that require my attention ;) Lastly, the Wikipedia:Barnstars reminded me of you! and here is your gift and genuine one too :)

Thanks
Thank you for reviewing Scleractinia. It is a better article for an additional pair of eyes. Having finished with that, I wonder if you have time to take a look at Emu at FAC? It is somewhat languishing there and is in need of attention. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 17:45, 4 September 2015 (UTC)
- Welcome. I have left my comments at the FAC. It is very well written, but I think I have pointed out several overlooked minute points. I think you should contact Cas Liber, LittleJerry, Aa77zz and Nikkimaria asking them to clearly state their stand on the article. Sainsf <^>Talk all words 06:33, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you. I will do that. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:39, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
- Congrats! You have my support for Emu. I had a glance at the Mayfly FAC you and Chiswick Chap have nominated. Upon my word, I never have seen a more perfect article! A masterpiece only talented Wikipedians can present! This one's gonna be the biggest feather in your cap! I did not have the time for an in-depth inspection but I could not find any major problems on the whole. Just note that the caddisfly link under "Ecology" should be removed, it's a duplink. I wish all success to an awesome Wikipedian as you with all your "Wikipursuits", most importantly this year's WikiCup! Sainsf <^>Talk all words 17:00, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
- Besides your review, you provided excellent advice, and things have moved forward as a result. As for Mayfly, Chiswick Chap is mostly to blame! Cwmhiraeth (talk) 17:39, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

Message from an old friend
Hello friend. How have you been?
Are you back from wiki-break?
Pixarh (talk) 15:01, 16 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hello Pixarh! Glad to hear from you after what seems ages! Actually I am really inactive here as I don't get much time for editing, so it's like a continuous wikibreak. But how are you doing? Sorry if I reply late, but I will try to reply soon. Cheers! Sainsf <^>Talk all words 10:37, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- I am equally glad to get back your message. literally ages !!! :(
You would be glad to see my contributions and how I have developed as an editor :)
Would you like to see my user page and arrange it ? ;)
What is happening these days?Pixarh (talk) 16:10, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- You are indeed doing great! March on! The more one edits, the better they become! Sorry, I am really busy with my studies, I am afraid I can't spare much time here.
- Please take it positively, but don't you think your userpage resembles mine a bit too much? I mean you emulated my style initially, but why keep it for so long? I would be greatly happy if you could construct your own userpage so beautifully that one day people seek guidance from you in that matter!
- If you want you can experiment with new ways of arranging your userpage! It is interesting to see how the formats work and change the look of the page! Sainsf <^>Talk all words 17:13, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- Glad to hear about it and wish you best of luck for all your studies :)
Thank you and I do plan to change my userpage but I was finding it a little difficult to balance it due to the html though I have improved a lot. This is why I was unable to chnage it significantly from yours and it still resembles yours very much.
Take care and wish you all the luck :)Pixarh (talk) 17:22, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Please award me a Barnstar
Hello, This is to inform you that I have been on WIkipedia since 10 months and I have been awarded only 2 Barnstars. The last was provided on 13 November 2015. Since then I am not awarded. So I am kindly requesting you to award me a barnstar. I am requesting you because it looks that you are an experienced editor. Go through my contributions: Kunalforyou (t · th · c · del · cross-wiki · SUL · edit counter · pages created (xtools · sigma) · non-automated edits · BLP edits · undos · manual reverts · rollbacks · logs (blocks · rights · moves) · rfar · spi · cci) ЖunalForYou ☎️📝 17:20, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Kunalforyou : Welcome to my page, friend! You would not believe me at all, but I too got so starved for barnstars when I joined Wikipedia that I begged another experienced user to give me a barnstar! Well, you can read our conversation here - a short one, do take a look. My answer would be somewhat same as this user's, but in my own style and with logic. And it is NO preaching. Here we go:
- Imagine. Your laptop battery has run out. Or you are too exhausted to even walk. Because you were so busy with an article you had taken fancy in and were expanding as much as you could. You could be attached to other stuff here too, like reviewing, but assume this is for a newbie.
- Soon you get to know of DYKs. Yo say, hey, I was expanding an article right? Then just go ahead and nominate it! But hang on! Remember taking a quick look through that I consider the "golden words of Wikipedia" - the Manual of Style for becoming a master in writing, the Editing policy for becoming a master in etiquette and the The Five Pillars for becoming a master in editing. Why do I say this? Because this ensures the Copyeditor's barnstar, the Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar and the Editor's Barnstar surely at some point of time.
- You continue to GAN and FAN, and end up with a Four Award! And who knows it could even be a Million Award! Check out these awards on Wikipedia! On the way you might get the Good Article Barnstar, Wikiproject specific barnstars, Red link removal barnstar, Tireless Contributor barnstar and the list goes on.
- Now come back to scenario one. Your battery laptop reads 5%, and you are tapping away. Your eyes ache, your appliances are getting heated, possibly a hurricane is on its way (Okay, that was too much :P). Suddenly you get a notification that you have been awarded a barnstar. Now tell me how heavenly, paradisaical, light, relaxed, one-in-a-million, revolutionary, and above all, satisfied you would feel. Can you get all this the way you feel you can now?
- So what's the secret about this sudden excitement on getting a barnstar? It is because of the unpredictability of the barnstar you get. You are thrilled when someone notices your work of their own accord. Not when you draw their attention to it.
- So it is logical that you start your job now and increase the probability of your bagging a barnstar. I believe that by the rules of probability your work will be directly proportional to the barnstars you will win.
- So Kunal, that was all I had to say. Please take it positively, but I am not awarding you a barnstar only for your benefit, for there is the risk that you might turn complacent. Cheers! Sainsf <^>Talk all words 18:44, 24 January 2016 (UTC)
