Notability of Stop Drop N Skank
[edit]A tag has been placed on Stop Drop N Skank requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Porturology (talk) 23:37, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
Reason for CFSD nomination
[edit]Wikipedia is an encyclopedia not a band directory. The policy for inclusion in Wikipedia to establish the notability of a band (rememdering that Wikipedia is a global project rather than a North American one) is: Criteria for musicians and ensembles Shortcuts: WP:BAND WP:MUSICBIO A musician or ensemble (note that this includes a band, singer, rapper, orchestra, DJ, musical theatre group, etc.) is notable if it meets any one of the following criteria:
- 1.Has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician or ensemble itself and reliable.[note 1]
This criterion includes published works in all forms, such as newspaper articles, books, magazine articles, online versions of print media, and television documentaries[note 2] except for the following: Any reprints of press releases, other publications where the musician or ensemble talks about themselves, and all advertising that mentions the musician or ensemble, including manufacturers' advertising.[note 3] Works comprising merely trivial coverage, such as articles that simply report performance dates, release information or track listings, or the publications of contact and booking details in directories. An article in a school or university newspaper (or similar) would generally be considered trivial but should be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
- 2. Has had a charted single or album on any national music chart.
- 3.Has had a record certified gold or higher in at least one country.
- 4.Has received non-trivial coverage in a reliable source of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country.[note 4]
- 5.Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable).
- 6.Is a musician who has been a member of two or more independently notable ensembles, or an ensemble which contains two or more independently notable musicians.
- 7.Has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or of the local scene of a city; note that the subject must still meet all ordinary Wikipedia standards, including verifiability.
- 8.Has won or been nominated for a major music award, such as a Grammy, Juno, Mercury, Choice or Grammis award.
- 9.Has won or placed in a major music competition.
- 10. Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g. a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a compilation album, etc. (But if this is the only claim, it is probably more appropriate to have a mention in the main article and redirect to that article.)
- 11.Has been placed in rotation nationally by any major radio network.
- 12.Has been the subject of a half hour or longer broadcast across a national radio or TV network.
In the current article I cab't see any evidence for any of these criteria, If the article can be changed to include verifiable evidence of one of these then I will withdraw the nomination for speedy deletion but depending on the evidence keep open the other option for deletion Porturology (talk) 02:16, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

The file File:DannyCoheen.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Orphaned file with no obvious value in transferring to Commons
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Salavat (talk) 06:31, 30 May 2020 (UTC)
