About "this WP:AN/I report" and some advice

[edit]

Hi Sage of Knowledge, and thank you for your enthusiasm in contributing to the Wikipedia project!

I do realise that you are new here.

That said, Anjum saniya is even newer.

It would appear to me that what would be more preferable here would have been to explain to this new user what the problems were with their edits, and give them some guidance for the future.

I do suggest, to start off with, that you read this.

Please do let me know if I can assist you with this, or anything else related to the English language Wikipedia.

Previous account(s)?

[edit]

Hello, Sage of Knowledge,

You are not behaving like an editor who has only been active for a few hours. What other accounts have you used to edit Wikipedia in the past? Please create a User page and list them there or editors might assume you are a sockpuppet.

If you have questions about this or editing on Wikipedia, please bring them to the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 18:52, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Block notice

[edit]
Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for WP:CIR concerns as well as likelihood that these concerns were raised on previous accounts.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.
  • Sage of Knowledge, please let us know what accounts you used previously so that we can review the entirety of your editing history. You are creating inappropriate reports across multiple noticeboards and moving way too fast, which is eating up volunteer and administrative time. -- Ponyobons mots 21:33, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    • Very well, then. I used to be the vandal User:Persononthinternet. I was an immature teenager back then. I am trying to genuinely help out, but if you don't want or appreciate it, so be it. Sage of Knowledge (talk) 21:37, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    • I went through many of Sage of Knowledge's article edits. I didn't find any to revert; they mostly reverted vandalism. They did restore some content that I considered questionable, but it was a revert of a larger blanking, so I just removed the sentence that I felt was inappropriate. (Did not look at any of their reports, and there were quite a few.) Schazjmd (talk) 21:46, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Incorrect SPIs created, incorrect edit filter false positive reports, edit warring to restore content an editor removed from their own usepage (then immediately reporting them to AN/I), multiple incorrect UAA reports...all in a day. You've been doing this for years (see User:DimensionShifter for example). Note also that you are globally blocked, so your blocked applies across all Wikimedia sites, not just the English language Wikipedia. -- Ponyobons mots 22:05, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I get that, but it's all the same issues as you had years ago with User:Brainiac245. You need to 1) get your account unlocked, globally and then 2) learn how things works instead of just shooting from the hip.-- Ponyobons mots 22:10, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
How? It's been years since I've had access to that account. The password is long gone. Sage of Knowledge (talk) 22:14, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Appeal using this account then. Note that any appeal will be unlikely to succeed if you don't follow the standard offer.-- Ponyobons mots 22:21, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So do I really have to wait six months? Sage of Knowledge (talk) 22:46, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
At bare minimum. You have to demonstrate that you have at least a basic respect for Wikipedia policies and the Foundation's Terms of Use.-- Ponyobons mots 22:50, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Forget it, then. I don't have time to deal with the bureaucracy. I've got better things to do with my time. Sage of Knowledge (talk) 22:52, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you can't follow the rules, then you're definitely not going to be "appreciated." That's a life lesson you may want to take to heart. — The Hand That Feeds You:Bite 18:33, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
