Your VandalProof Application
[edit]Dear Sagaciousuk,
Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that at this time you do not meet the minimum requirement of 250 edits to mainspace articles (see under main here). Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. - GIen 18:17, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Your high-handed removal of factual information
[edit]Where do you get off removing simple facts from a page without a thought. You people are really strange. Commodity tick page
[edit]I took the corporate link off that oxford keeps adding to the commodity pages. This is not vandalism, this is removing corporate garbage seo links.
70.223.161.24 20:11, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
HU12 deleted this same link off other pages in the past. This information could be added directly to the page. This is obvious seo work. Wikipedia states external links are only for information that can not fit on the page or goes above and beyond the scope of the article which this does not at all. This person is trying to get as many links to his website as possible.
All of this information is all ready listed on wiki page - List of traded commodities This whole page is not needed at all. It was designed for a link to his website period.
- Sagaciousuk this is a SEO guy from United futures, (always under different nicks and IP'S) A know spammer and vandal.. see http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:GraemeL&oldid=59450643#Commercial_Links . [edit]I added "laughable" to this players page as Ken Bates, the Leeds United chairman, described the £1mill bid for him as "laughable", In no way was the word intended as vandalism and i apologise for not editing the page fully to indicate that these were a club officials sentiments and not my own. I remember reading this in a local news paper (Evening Post-Leeds Edition) yet cannot find it on their online web-site
Michael Owen
[edit]An anon left the following on my talk page. Not sure how he ended up there, but the message looks like it was intended for you.--Srleffler 23:40, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- My edit on Michael Owen's page was, IMO toally valid. We all know that Michael, although a good striker, is injury prone. As a footballer supporter myself, in general discussion he is referred to as 'the wimp' and I'm sure most football fans would know that 'The wimp' is Owen. Alas, I see no problem with this edit—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 85.210.170.54 (talk • contribs) 15:36, August 29, 2006.

Fair use rationale for Image:Wolfgang priklopil.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Wolfgang priklopil.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Re: KISS 105 - 108 - disagreements
[edit]Hi,
I understand that you and User_talk:Vibeone/User_talk:82.153.175.76 are currently having a severe disagreement over certain things to do with Kiss 105-108 East. Whilst I hold little interest in radio stations, I have discerned that you disagree over the following points:
- The exact location in Scotland where SRH broadcasted, and is currently broadcasting through DAB.
- The exact details of the take-over by EMAP of SRH.
- Various other points circling around these.
If you disagree over any other points, feel free to bring them to my attention.
SRH was indeed bought by EMAP; on 21 June, 2005. Kiss 105-108 is picked up using DAB in Ayr. The sources behind this are as follows:
- Purchase of SRH by EMAP
- Renaming of Vibe to Kiss
- Postcode KA6 6EN is in Ayr
- Kiss 105-108 can be picked up from Ayr
Thanks. If you have any other queries, comments or other problems or difficulties, feel free to contact me on my talk page.
Regards, Ale_Jrbtalk 21:22, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
- Yes - having researched it, I belive that it is correct that the Kiss 105-108 East radio station can be picked up in Ayr through DAB. Having found more than one source referencing the fact, with one of these listed above. I feel confident that you can change the article back to the state that it was in before the disagreement. Ale_Jrbtalk 21:42, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
- That concerns me too - but it is a cast iron fact, that the website is wrong. It really isn't on there. Its well documented on websites like ukonair.com and digitalspy. Its not on there. Please also see the following link. I can only assume that the website was not updated when Vibe was replaced by Kiss 100, and with all the publicity of the Vibe rebrand recently, someone has thought they are doing a good job by updating it. It really isn't on the multiplex. Please see this link: http://66.249.93.104/search?q=cache:EBb6WxEMQn0J:www.wohnort.demon.co.uk/DAB/archives05.html+vibe+kiss+ayr+score&hl=en&gl=uk&ct=clnk&cd=2
- Heres a quote: October 24th (2005) A new Service has popped up on Score Ayr. KISS is running at 128 kbit/s. The Service Vibe FM has ceased.
- Its easy to dismiss things when you know for a fact they are not true. But I do see your point, and proof must, and will, be found. The fact is, I am in Ayr (well Kilmarnock, but covered by Score Ayr), a lot - and I know when it was removed. There is also the confusion with the current rebrand, but this is nothing to do with Vibe being removed last November. I am up there again on Wednesday, but as I'm apparently not a good enough source, I agree we must find someone else.... and if possible soon, since wiki is currently displaying incorrect info. Vibeone 12:48, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
- MediaUK.com have now updated their page and removed Ayr as a transmission area: http://www.mediauk.com/radio/243/kiss-105-8 . May I know update the wiki page?Vibeone 18:37, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
- Slightly modified your added paragraph on the Kiss 105-108 page. This is the correct date. MediaUK missed it. To confirm, if you are a member of the mediauk real names forum, ask one of the directory editors. No idea why other sites still list Vibe and/or Kiss 105-108. Vibeone 21:38, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

- Sag, I can find no proof at all that these stations have their location appended to it. Even Kiss 100 is called just that, although I freely admit the DJs do regularly define it as "Kiss 100 London". I have found no proof that this is the case on either 105-108 or 101. The emap corporate site, under the brands section defines the station as "Kiss 105-108" and "Kiss 101". Media UK and various other websites agree on this. See http://www.emap.com/brands-content.asp?resource=166 and http://www.emap.com/brands-content.asp?resource=167 for this. As I'm still new and stupid, please could you modify the names of the articles, or give me a clue on how to do it. Vibeone 08:44, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- Fair point, and it does standardise things somewhat. However I'd argue that 'east' doesn't need to be appended to each mention of the station name within the article? Vibeone 10:41, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I edited a sentence on Wayne Rooney. It was;

Because there's no 'appearing' about it. He did it - intentionally, as to why the ref sent him off.

Re:Pointless edit
[edit]Hello there! Yes it seems pointless, but what it actually does is refresh the article's categories. Your User: page was still listed in a category that it wasn't actually in anymore - but to force everything to update - I 'bumped' the article. Bumping essentially is adding a blank line to the top of an article, which actually dissapears once saved - thus causing no interferance with the article's appearance :) Normally, categories update themselves properly and a bump isn't needed - however sometimes articles get stuck and need a little encouragement.
Hope that explains things :) --Sagaciousuk (talk) 02:28, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, simply saving the page updates the database without adding to the history. Rfrisbietalk 02:39, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
- It really does work. If you can't see it, try purging the server cache (an example for this page). Rfrisbietalk 02:53, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit]What I removed was non-sense that had nothing to do with the section of the article. Please read what you are reverting. 68.248.131.61 23:11, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- That doesn't excuse the mistake be it your fault or not. I now have a vandalism warning on my talk page, that is false. I also do not understand what you mean. If you are using a bot to remove the same thing I did, why would you warn me for vandalism? 68.248.131.61 23:19, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- Also your revert here is not vandalism either... 68.248.131.61 23:21, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- So you need an edit summary to make a change? I'm far from a newbie to the site, and I know the rules. You do not need an edit summary to change something in the article. That is wholly against the spirit of Wikipedia. Also as noted when I reverted your rollback on Zbigniew Brzezinski, rollback should only be used for vandalism, not because you found the replacement word to be odd. 68.248.131.61 23:29, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- I understand why you reverted, my point is that it was erroneous, since you are an experienced editor you should know to look and understand what you are reverting, not just reverting because of a lack of an edit summary, or because I or someone else is editing under an ip address instead of an user name. I am editing from my ip because I do not wish to be logged in, I do not wish to use my extra tools. I simply wish to read and correct minor mistakes without the distractions of logging in. All I'm asking is that you more carefully review the reverts you are about to make, surely that is nothing too extreme to ask for. 68.248.131.61 23:46, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- Be "done" then, still all I'm asking is that you review what you are about to revert more carefully. My removal to the Desi Arnaz article was not vandalism, it was removing non-sense from the article. So to cite me a warning for vandalism is just wrong. You have yet to apologize for your mistake be it your fault or not. And I still have that false warning on my talk page. I find this offensive and also an injustice to my editing. But you go ahead an be "done" discussing this with me. You are an asset to Wikipedia good sir... 68.248.131.61 00:00, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
- I suggest you stop putting your focus on my not being logged in, that has nothing to do with my ability to contribute to the encyclopedia. I can edit under damn near any name I want as long as it is conforms to the WP:USERNAME policy. Also under any ip I want as long as it is not an open or zombie proxy, etc. I really think you should be focusing on the point I have raised, just be more careful of what you are going to revert. Why is that so hard to do? No matter you are the "logged" in user, so I'm a second class editor, so do what you want. I too am done with this issue. 68.248.131.61 00:08, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

Please consider also warning vandals
[edit]Thank you for reverting vandalism on Wikipedia. Could you also please consider using our vandal warning system [2]? First offenses get a "test1," then a "test2," followed by a "test3" and "test4." At the end of this, if the vandal persists, he or she merits blocking for a period of time. If you do this, it will greatly help us in decreasing vandalism on Wikipedia. Much thanks, -- Kukini 22:15, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
- Not a problem. I just find it easier to close them down, particularly the IP vandals, if they have been warned. Best, Kukini 20:04, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi,
You have put yourself as interested in helping out at WikiProject on user warnings. We are now at a stage where we are creating the new templates and are wondering if you are still interested? If so please visit the overview page and choose a warning type you wish to work on. There is a base template available here, which you can copy and use to get you started. Have a look through the redirects and see what old templates are affected and incorporate them into the the new system. Anyway, any questions please don't hesitate to give me a shout. [edit]Hi. Why did you revert my revert on the Bozo the Clown page? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.3.139.150 (talk) 00:25, 11 January 2007 (UTC).
- Hello there! I reverted your edits to Bozo the Clown because they did not appear to be terribly relevant to the article, and were seemingly a random unsourced contribution. --Sagaciousuk (talk) 16:42, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for responding. I appreciate it. My edit was an attempt to reinstate a factual sentence that had been on the article for a long time and was recently deleted by someone. The revert included the deletion of vandalism by somene who added "sss"; and someone else who added a dead link to the words "Medinah Temple." Let me know if and how you would prefer me to proceed. Thanks again. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.3.139.150 (talk) 05:36, 12 January 2007 (UTC).
Selflink removals?
[edit]In several articles (Royce West, Richard Raymond (Texas politician), Rodney Ellis, and so on) your edit summaries show you removed selflinks that I had included on these pages. As most (if not all) of them were in election boxes, I felt that the selflinks — showing up in bold type as they do — helped to let the reader easily find the individual in the election box. Is this practice not acceptable in this situation? Thanks in advance — Bellhalla 14:28, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
- In that that case you might try the bold wiki code self links are useless and should be removed unless they are section links Cheers Betacommand (talk • contribs • Bot) 05:42, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

The actions of a certain casserole ...
[edit]Hi! Looks like we have both been reverting the edits of a certain casserole this evening. Is there a better way of doing this? I tried to put something on AIV but it looks like my edit got lost. I'm still a newbie so I assume that was just my mistake. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Philip Trueman (talk • contribs) 17:41, 16 January 2007 (UTC).

revert on Delphi, IN
[edit]I deliberately moved William Afflis as a notable native from the Lafayette, IN page to the Delphi page because that is what his page gives as his correct birthplace. I think you have incorrectly reverted me. Nowimnthing 19:03, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- No prob, Thanks Nowimnthing 19:06, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
experimenting??
[edit]You are mistaken (unless it's just your bot). I was not "experimenting" with the page Cortes Generales. I was tracing activity from a certian user/vandal and attempted revert vandalism on that page. After doing so, I then realized the vandalism had already been removed (and that I had accidentally added it back). I then reverted my own edit. ++ Arx Fortis 19:08, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Your user page ..
[edit]Hi! Don't know if you noticed, but your user page has been twice vandalised by User:Poke Dan in the last day or so, and in appreciation of all his hard work he has been blocked. Friend of yours? Philip Trueman 18:00, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
- Nope - but thanks for the heads up. Keeps the figures up-to-date :-P --Sagaciousuk (talk) 19:15, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Reversion of Master of Orion
[edit]Hi. You reverted my edit which, I believe, reveals itself on examination to be a valid (and needed) one. A bit rushed, but valid. No harm was done - Lord knows I've jumped the gun a few times myself - but consider this an implication to look before you leap. Cheers. --Kizor 21:34, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hey there! Unfortunately that revert was accidental, but I thought it hadn't been saved. In the vandalism rush yesterday, 'MOO' was flagged up as potential vandalism by my script - so I hit revert after a glance at the edit - then had a double take at it and closed the reversion window. Seems I didn't get there in time. Sorry about that - but keep up the good work! --Sagaciousuk (talk) 02:50, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
- It happens, but what's this vandalism rush you speak of? Is it time for the good guys and other guys of the CVU to come to the aid of their encyclopedia? --Kizor 02:16, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
I called it a vandalism rush, basically there was a sudden surge in the volume of vandalism being done during several hours a few evenings ago - and I was using an RC filter to help catch and revert a lot of the vandalism. With there being so many bad edits, I was running behind quite a lot and was trying to get it all cleared quickly. Unfortunately, I made a couple of errors while doing that. --[[User:Sagaciousuk|Sagaciousuk]1] (talk) 19:19, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
- Is there some kind of warning system or other way of getting the word about such surges around? I want in on the action when the next one comes. --Kizor 19:30, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

My RfA
[edit]
Word of thanks for Sagaciousuk
Good morning (GMT time); I'd like to thank you for supporting, opposing, taking a neutral stance to, closing, suggesting I close or otherwise contributing to my recent RfA; unfortunately, I felt that although there were more support than oppose votes, the weight of the latter was too great for me to accept the promotion with so many not trusting me with the janitor's trolley - I therefore decided to end my nomination prematurely. The feedback I received was invaluable, and I am striving to start afresh with all of the advice my fellow Wikipedians offered. In order to meet the aim of adapting to your advice, I've drew up a list of aims (located here) which I intend to follow from this point onwards. If you have any further advice or comments for me, don't hesitate to post me a message at my talk page where it will be graciously and humbly accepted. Once again, thank you and I do hope to bump into you around the encyclopedia!

[edit]Hey what was up with what I did on her page? She wrote that email and it is relevant to what she is doing now.
P.S. DOnt leave me smart arse comments about how my test worked. It was not a test I was quoting her hence putting her text in a quote block. Krome007 02:51, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
We regard to your message and blogs the blog that was taken from is written by a guy who is involved with Larry Rudolf who is Britney Spears' manager. Personally I think Britney is an idiot but I saw the blog and thought it was relevant to the page.
Up to you. I dont care either way if it remains but I do think it is relevant and is from a credible source. Krome007 04:19, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit]- I just reverted the changes you made [3] here that removed all of the keep comments? Was this an accident? -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 20:22, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

- Please do not add keep/delete headers to an XfD discussion, that is not how we do them. Comments should be time threaded, not opinion threaded. GRBerry 20:24, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

- The specific text for that is Wikipedia:Guide_to_deletion#Discussion - towards the bottom of that section. (sorry for piling on, but I thought the actual citation was called for. I realize you did it in good faith. Good luck, and thanks for trying to help.) --AnonEMouse (squeak) 20:27, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Heh. Don't worry about summing up, the closing admin will be able to. This one isn't that hard to read, so far there's a clear majority for keeping. Here's one I couldn't read, for comparison: Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Whip_Jones. Compared to that, this is nothing. :-) --AnonEMouse (squeak) 20:37, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yea, thanks for trying to help though. I think from time to time we all have the urge to do that. You were WP:BOLD, however you were bold in a minefield of disagreement. Thanks again and sorry if I came down too hard. -- Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 20:40, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

can you have your bot hit these?
[edit]We have a set of categories at Wikipedia:User_categories_for_discussion#Userbox categories for which all the templates have been removed, but it's still way too many userpages to manually fix. Can you have the Sagabot delete those? If so, I'd appreciate it.--Mike Selinker 15:59, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- Much appreciated!--Mike Selinker 21:48, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi Sagaciousuk,
Sorry for the blatant spam, but you have yourself down as interested at WikiProject user warnings WP:UW. There is a discussion on going here that might be of interest to you about the future of this project. There are two strawpolls on the talk pages and the second one is about the future of the WP:UW project. Now we have the end in sight we are looking at wrapping up the project and merging it with Template messages/User talk namespace WP:UTM and creating a one stop shop for all userspace templates. As you have yourself down as interested in this project we thought you may have some input on this issue, and would like you to visit the discussion and give any thoughts you may have on the matter. Cheers Khukri 10:34, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Veropedia
[edit]When you return from Wikibreak can you please tell me more about Veropedia. I agree that we can do better and perhaps things need to be taken out of town to improve. Burntsauce 22:25, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Just a polite note, I've edited the Veropedia templates to make the external links appear as regular wikilinks, just so you know :) Qst (talk) 12:27, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
