Hello
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for writing the article The red hot peppers. Unfortunately, it doesn't conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new articles, and has, as a result, been marked for deletion. However, please do not be disheartened by what may or may not happen to your first article, if indeed it is deleted - please continue to edit Wikipedia and add articles which conform with the inclusion criteria. For help, see Help:Contents. To find out what will probably be deleted, see Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion and Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. Thanks, and if you have any questions, please ask them on my user talk page. To do this, click on my name (just after this sentence) and click discussion at the top and then the (+) button at the top. VivioFateFan (Talk, Sandbox) 00:13, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- I removed the speedy deletion tag, since the band is associated with Jelly Roll Morton who is notable. I also moved the article to Red Hot Peppers to capitalize it as a proper name, and also because it's linked that way in the Jelly Roll Morton article. Feel free to expand the article now. --Elkman (Elkspeak) 21:41, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- Now that I read the article, Jelly Roll Morton, it does seem notable. Sorry for the mistake in the CSD. VivioFateFan (Talk, Sandbox) 23:11, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Northern Ontario Secondary Schools Association
[edit]A tag has been placed on Northern Ontario Secondary Schools Association requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Transcendence (talk) 22:54, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Northern Ontario Secondary Schools Association, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Fair use rationale for Image:Raider Cast.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Raider Cast.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Duplicate images uploaded
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Raider cast.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Raider Cast.JPG. The copy called Image:Raider Cast.JPG has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot (talk) 01:14, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
Conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, S kirkness, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Our intro page provides helpful information for new users - please check it out! If you need help, visit Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}}

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, as you did at Scotty Kirkness. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.
Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.
If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. Bovlb (talk) 04:40, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hey. Actually if you check, you'll notice that I (Scott Kirknes) did not create the Scotty Kirkness page. I corrected it, but I did not start it. As I have been given a medal of honour by the Queens representative in Canada for my bravery. I believe that qualifies. —Preceding unsigned comment added by S kirkness (talk • contribs) 17:14, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- Good point. I wanted to give you a heads-up about a potential issue, and I used standard templates that may not have been 100% applicable to your specific case. Sorry for any confusion. The Scotty Kirkness page has had a curious history, but in its current sense it was established by anonymous user User:170.65.128.6. For obvious reasons, I suspected that that might be you editing before you created an account, but I'm happy to assume good faith. Either way, the WP:COI and WP:AUTO pages are still relevant, as I'm sure you've already discovered. I agree that the medal of honour is likely sufficient to establish notability (although it is is sufficiently borderline that other editors may disagree). Bovlb (talk) 20:05, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Raider cast.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Raider cast.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 03:52, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Raider cast.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Raider cast.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 03:44, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
