Please consider also warning vandals
[edit]Thank you for reverting vandalism on Wikipedia. Could you also please consider using our vandal warning system [1]? First offenses get a "test1," then a "test2," followed by a "test3" and "test4." At the end of this, if the vandal persists, he or she merits blocking for a period of time. If you do this, it will greatly help us in decreasing vandalism on Wikipedia. Much thanks, -- Kukini hablame aqui 00:42, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
VandalProof
[edit]Um, from what I remember, you didn't have over 250 edits when your application was viewed, so that will be why you weren't approved. Add your name to the list again, and you should pass. Ale_Jrbtalk 17:41, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

Your vandal guard keeps reverting my edits to this, and other San Diego area pages. The demographics that are referenced here are not by a legitamate website. If they are not by Census, or another recognizable group, then they need to be discredited. The city o San Diego has not even strictly defined these areas, so it would not even be accurate to give this area demographics. I think that the website that links here gives an estimation to what they "think" the demographics are, but without any proof by census, or the City of San Diego, they need to be removed. 69.236.27.110 04:28, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
- The source on demographics is from SANDAG, which is a legitimate source and a recognizable group. The City of San Diego has defined these areas. "I think that the website that links here gives an estimation to what they "think" the demographics are, but without any proof by census, or the City of San Diego" this is not true, the city of San Diego is part of SANDAG and the 2006 demographics are used because the population increased 1035.6% from 2000 estimates and because there is no census until 2010. There is no need to turn off the vandal guard for this article, 69.236.27.110 is out of line by removing information without prior dicussion on the talk page, especially when wikipeida guidlines do not warrent any removal.—Christopher Mann McKay 17:35, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
I've been reverting edits made| by User:69.236.27.110 and other IPs to the San Diego articles you've been editing. This is actually a banned user named Ericsaindon2 as demonstrated by his edits to Anaheim Hills. Don't bother debating him if you come across him again, just revert on sight. My guess is that these edits are him pouting because we wouldn't accept his original research at Anaheim Hills, Anaheim, California and have been reverting him for months. When I say don't debate him, I really mean don't debate him. There's really no point. AniMate 22:28, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism
[edit]Hi, I did not vandalise that page, as in NZ our IPs change as they are not static, so it would be someone on XTRA that edited that page who had that IP at that time. (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Tulip&diff=next&oldid=123677350)

[edit] Thank you, Andrew, for commenting on my RfA, which closed successfully with a tally of 76/0/1! I hope I will meet your expectations, and be sure I will continue trying to be a good editor as well as a good administrator :) If I may be of any assistance to you in the future (or if you see me commit some grievous error :), please drop me a line on my Talk page.
Again, thank you, and happy editing! Fvasconcellos (t·c) 18:36, 10 June 2007 (UTC) |
Vandalism
[edit]Don't warn vandals with a last warning if they have not been properly warned with a test1, test2, etc. In reference to User talk:125.236.44.47, the previous warning you saw were not issued today. The warning before yours was given on June 1st. Therefore, today, the warnings should have started over. So, next time give him a test1, or blatant vandal warning instead of a final warning. I hope I helped! Wikipediarules2221 21:55, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- I have never seen anything which says that warning levels should begin anew each day. WP:Vandal#Warnings says that warning templates "are listed at right in order of severity, but need not be used in succession." If there is another policy somewhere, could you show it to me? SU Linguist 22:02, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- A final warning is just that--a final warning. If there hasn't been a previous warning, then one can't issue a last warning because they haven't been properly notified. In regards to time, multiple users often share IP addresses so the vandalism done 10 days ago could have been done by a different user. Let's say the final warning was issued 10 days ago and he vandalized today, surely he would not be blocked for that piece of vandalism 10 days ago. Each new day, the warnings do not start anew. But with time lapses of 3 or more days, it is best to start over. Also, in certain cases, it may be necessary to issue a final warning as the first warning; however, that is reserved for very strong vandalism (calling another user on wikipedia a "retard" does not merit a final warning though). I hope that made sense, it can be kind of tricky. Keep up the excellent work and let me know if you have any other questions! Cheers! Wikipediarules2221 22:26, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks a tonne!
[edit]Honestly, I dunno where you showed up from or how you found me. I mean, how did you even end up going through my talk page??? Anyways, I'm glad to have received a barn star for random acts of kindness - it coming at a time when some edits of mine to an article are being disputed. Lightens the load. Thanks a lot! And that too - from a fellow believer. Btw, if you're interested in Christian music or anything related to that, I'd request a lil help on the Christian music portal. That'll be all for now. Happy wiki-ing!!! aJCfreak yAk 18:01, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Collateralized debt obligation
[edit]Could you take another look at the Collateralized debt obligation, I think the person after me made a typo and not a deliberate vandalism. Thanks. Finnancier 15:50, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, you were right. I should have looked at the his last edits, too, which were clearly not vandalism. Thanks for catching that, and I changed it back. SU Linguist 15:54, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Junior Civitan International
[edit]A tag has been placed on Junior Civitan International requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Ged UK (talk) 20:20, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for that. Shows how easy it is to be tripped up, people were dating clean-up tags with seasons, and I put the season to month conversion in the same place as the month spelling errors. Of course it needs to be specific to clean-up tags only. Rich Farmbrough, 23:05 4 November 2008 (UTC).
I have posted a response here. Apologies for the delay. لennavecia 19:26, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
