Why must it be redirected? That is a good question. And while not a newbie - I don't have an answer to that, but the article ]250 (number) does contain something about 253. Why don't you try the talk page at Talk:250 (number) and propose breaking out 253, but I think they will want a lot more than what has been proposed.
