SSSI maps

[edit]

Hi, I have put a couple of sample dot maps at User:RobinLeicester/sandbox, which I think are a bit inconclusive in demonstrating usefullness. (The tooltips work properly on ie8 but not Chrome or firefox, which is a pain). Nilfanian, who has done the various county basemaps, has a plan to produce actual area SSSI maps for each county, which I suspect will be a better solution. The only English one he has done so far is Cornwall. He is a busy chap, but I think waiting for those maps (which have no live links so don't slow the page down) may be the best option. (There is also the GeoGroup (Map of Coordinates via Google) facility on pages which include coords, which does something similar - Cumbria has too many sites for it to cope, but most that I have done (eg Derbyshire include it). License tagging for File:Philippine Hawk Owl distribution.PNG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Philippine Hawk Owl distribution.PNG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:06, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Buad, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Zumarraga (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Nightjar names

[edit]

See User talk:SP-KP/Nightjar names

If this list is correct with no spelling mistakes and no transcription errors, then I might be able to make most of the redirects with a script in about 10 minutes or less. Snowman (talk) 13:16, 17 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There were 375 redirects to make and I think it took about 20 mins to make them once I had written and tested the script. Snowman (talk) 22:01, 17 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If you have any suggestions for more non-controversial new redirects, then please make a similar list again and I hope to make the new redirects quite quickly. Snowman (talk) 18:15, 18 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Keynsham Humpy Tumps

[edit]

Hi, This pick is taken from OSGB36: ST 6495 6964 [10m precision] WGS84: 51:25.4806N 2:30.3298W looking roughly north. I'm having some difficulty working out exactly which bit of the open group counts as the Humpy Tumps. Geohack seems to be down but looking at 51.42653|N|2.51214|W on streetmap - which is the coords on the article - is only about 200m west of where the photo was taken. Do you have better coords for the Humpy Tumps - as the lack of "official" documents for this site makes it unclear.— Rod talk 10:23, 23 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

OK using the grid ref ST645698 could you take a look at http://www.geograph.org.uk/search.php?i=36281494 & see if any of those pics are more appropriate?— Rod talk 11:07, 23 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the one I added - when one of us visits next we need to take a camera.— Rod talk 13:34, 23 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
