Elasmosaurus

[edit]

Hi SMegatron, no problem! Actually, the "correct" versions I reverted to was made by you. To figure out what you may have done wrong you can look at the article's source code by clicking on "edit this page" and compare the currently working version with one of the older broken versions. That's how I teached myself editing in the Wikipedia. Bye, --Abdull 11:38, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Executor-class is 19,000 meters and is armed with 5000 turbolasers and ion cannons

[edit]

The 8,000 meter WEG stats are outdated and unreliable now adays. Leeland Chee confirmed it was 19,000 meters long and the new armanent was 5000 turbolasers and Ion Cannons. Do not revert.

Transformers Infobox

[edit]

Hi there. I've recently signed on to the Transformers Project, so it's a pleasure to be able to chat with a fellow fan. The reason I wanted to speak with you is I've made a NEW Transformers Template/Infobox to replace our current one. I know D-Boy is a fan of a small and simple box but the fact is if you compare it to the ones used elsewhere on Wiki (eg Spiderman) it just looks unprofessional (not that it's poorly done, I just thought it could be better). However I wanted to make any necessary changes and get the okay from Project members so please leave a comment on the TFProject Dicsussion Page. Cheers

Beast Wars Epiosde Synopsis

[edit]

Okay, I get you don't like the full episode synopsis on every character who appeared in an episode. I think we can make a comprimise. Can we make a page that gives a detailed synopsis of each episode, so I can just list it once? user:mathewignash

Okay, I started moving the broad episode synopsises to links with this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beast_Wars#Season_One If you are removing any episode synopsises from Beast Wars character pages, feel free to relocate them to the correct link here. user:mathewignash

Hi. I just saw your new page on Equal Measures. Please give me a reason not to tag it for speedy deletion. What is the context of the event? Is it from a television show, or is it something you've just made up. Also, don't forget your {{stub}} tags, and references if possible (i.e. a DVD reference, etc.)! David P. A. Hunter, esq. It's ok - that would have set off my vandal alarm as well! --Charlesknight 14:02, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sentinel Maximus

[edit]
I looked it up just now and it seems to change. The 1st issue was not credited to any company. Then they were credited to Destination Entertainment for several issues, then as of issue 8 up it said IDW in the corner. Fun Publications made the Timelines comics, but I don't think they did any for the club magazine. user:mathewignash

The Fury

[edit]

No need to apologise, I wasn't questioning your judgement at all - I was just completely stunned by the original editor's stupidity. I mean, it'd be one thing to at least FAKE some kind of connection between the two, or to just be silly enough to put it in based on the physical similarity, but to actually say, in the edit, that they're completely unrelated... man. Urgh. Agh. The Fury might be purple, able to turn its arm into a gun and has one glowing yellow eye for a face, but it first appeared in comics in 1982. :) - Chris McFeely 15:36, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Timelines Comics

[edit]

I noticed you have moved some of the timelines fiction to later in the Megatron page. Just suggesting here, but maybe it would make sense to list all the history of Megatron in the order it happened, not the order it was revealed to us? I mean how would you write a super hero bio? Say like the New Warriors appearing first in Thor comics, then later on in another title months later we learn their origin, with the Thor issued happening after it. I'd think you'd write a bio in chronological order to what happened to the character as his life progressed (had an origin, did something), not as readers discovered it (did something, later we learn the origin). What do you think? user:mathewignash

I put this forward on the Megatron talk page too, and SMegatron made the point about the BW animated fiction taking precedence, but that he'd considered the idea too. Transformers just tends to be messy that way, with all the different media and alternate universes involved, but I think putting "Timelines" first would also be a good idea. - Chris McFeely 23:41, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hook, Line and Sinker

[edit]

Hey. Thanks. Yes, I noticed that a little too late. Would you mind looking at all the pages that link to Hook, Line and Sinker (transformers) because I went and found them and linked them to this page. If you could change them to link properly to the new capitalized Transformers page? There was half a dozen or so. -BiancaOfHell 11:24, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Join us in the "Terminator" Article discussion page...please...

[edit]

If you are still a member of Wikipedia, please join user:TomTheHand and myself in a discussion of which terms should apply to the Cyberdyne Systems Model 101 Infiltration Unit in its various forms.

To be as neutral as possible, I will relate the views of TomTheHand as well as my own, as accurately as posible:

Tom believes that the term "Android" should apply to all of the incarnations of the Model 101, from Endoskeleton all the way up to the gestalts of flesh-and-blood and the combat chassis played by Arnold in the movies. He furthermore believes that the term "cyborg" does not apply to any of the Terminator's forms.

Thanos777 -myself -thinks that the Terminator is worthy of multiple appelations depending on which configuration (read: Type/Series) the Model 101 is configured as.

That is to say, I believe that the "Base" Model 101, just the endoskeleton with no cosmetic enhancements, is best defined as either a Humanoid Robot, Anthropomorphic Robot, or simply a Robot.

When the Model 101 is outfitted as a Type/Series 600, the endoskeleton covered by rubber skin, I believe that the Terminator is then most correctly classified as an "android."

And finally, when the Model 101 is equipped as a Type/Series 800/850, the endoskeleton with the living flesh-and-blood covering, I believe that the most correct term for the creatre is "cyborg."

Again, I respectfully ask you to come back to the "Terminator" Article and lend your input; those of us who are there in the Article's discussion page are engaging in a lot of back-and-forth regarding the different terms and the disagreements as to when they should be used.

Hope to "see" you there soon!!!

Magmatron

[edit]

Yes I did read the version of your edit where you rewrote the tech spec data. However, they were still far too similar to his original tech spec cards. It would take too long to upload the image so Ill settle for a link to a page with the data [1]. As you can see, the only real changes are the removal of one sentence, a few more reorganized sentences and a few grammatical changes [2]. Look, I'm not trying to get into a fight with you. I know you're just trying to improve the articles: so am I, and I don't believe tech spec data should be removed altogether. However, all tech specs are still copyrighted by Hasbro, and as such are unusable, as Centrx noted above. If we rewrite them fully, still getting the same points across in different language, we still get the information across without causing a copyvio, as shown here [3]. I hope we can find a way to work together in future. Best Regards. SMegatron 20:35, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I’m confused, is this about the first rewrite or the second? As you can see I rewrote paragraphs here [4] by adding some of what you wrote to what I had had before. Are you saying its’ still not acceptable? I do think you’re honestly trying to improve the articles and I would be much more glad to work with you then to get into some kind of petty fight but if the new version is still unacceptable I think you’re being a tad excessive. I’d appreciate it you looked over it again and let me know if it is workable.

Primes

[edit]

I realise Im probably butting my nose in where it doesn't belong, however I couldn't help but notice the problem between you and Mat over the Prime's page. Your proposal to rename the page on Mat's talk sounds like a good idea: however I don't think thats accurate either. Its a tad ambiguous to say the least to call the catergory Primes/Primals, as a few characters don't fit either description (in fact I removed it from Hot Rod earlier today, as I didn't understand the purpose). Perhaps moving it to Primes and associated characters would help? I realise its clunky but it would probably better decribe it. Anyway, regards.SMegatron 20:26, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not at all, if anyone has any constructive criticism or relevant things to say I welcome them. I have been worried about the ambiguous of the category name myself as you noticed. “Primes and Associated Characters” might help that, or maybe “Prime Family” or “Primes and Linked Characters". --The Matrix Prime 01:25, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I rather like the latter of those options myself. Regards.SMegatron 08:14, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Then it's a toss up between "Primes and Linked Characters" or "Characters Associated with Prime" (which is a better phrased verison of the first suggestion.) Which do you think is better? --The Matrix Prime 15:41, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Responded at the appropriate venue. Since Big Horn points to a mountain, I pointed the Starscream article to Big Horn (Transformers). Perhaps someone you know can fill out the article about the transformer toy. I just don't know enough about him to finish it. Kgrr 16:44, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SMegatron, it appears there a lot of Transformers that need wikipages built for them. So, I will probably just leave this one for someone else to pick up on the fun. I'm working on Washington Mountains, Lakes and Waterfalls. Specifically, I was working on Big Horn mountain and got side tracked to Big Horn, Wyoming and Transformers. I do have to say it's fun learning about new stuff. Thanks for your help. Best, Kgrr 20:30, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Joker

[edit]

Don't worry about it; it took me a couple months of editing Wikipedia and getting edits reversed and learning the more complex guidelines bit by bit before starting to get the style and format in my head. I'm still learning all the time — I just found out found about WP:PEACOCK last week! And may I just add that it takes a big person to come back and say, "Hey, sorry, I see what you mean." For what it's worth, you got my respect. If I can ever help, or if you just need to check on something, drop by my talk page. There are a few other fledgling Wikipedians I think I've helped a bit, the way good editors like User:Steve block helped me; it's good to give back. Happy Wiki'ing — Tenebrae 13:07, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Not at all — I'm always glad to help. The policy, and you can cite it in your edit summaries if you think someone's going to challenge it, is in items #43-5 of Wikipedia:External links#Links normally to be avoided. It's an editor's responsibility, in fact, to remove them — or, optimally, to replace them with a non-commercial verification of the same info. Happy editing to you, and please, it's never a bother to help. --Tenebrae 13:46, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Beast Wars

[edit]

I'm not sure to say the least. If it were up to me, we'd have merged the IDW Transformers articles, but consensus chose to keep them unmerged. Wait until you've read The Ascending to see if you think it's a distinct enough story, as there is a world of difference between each Spotlight. Alientraveller 17:15, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd think you'd like to look at my work at User:Alientraveller/Sandbox 2, nicked from Smallville (season 1). It follows WP:FICT and will keep the article short as time goes by. Alientraveller 10:47, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I kinda drew up two paragraphs on how everything has inter-related so far. I'm not too bothered about comparing continuities, as that would violate WP:NOR. Alientraveller 12:06, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, my revision has now been implemented. Alientraveller 12:46, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jazz spotlight

[edit]

I saw how you did the plot summary on the main page of Transformers (IDW publishing). I think you should also insert a plot for Jazz's spotlight. The story clearly happens during the civil war before the arrival on Earth, just like I put it in the comics chronological order. Also, a question. Has Maximum Dinobots 4 realy come out? I was looking today on the torrents trackers but found only Jazz's issue, no Dinobots.BobaFett85 (talk) 06:30, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have conducted a reassessment of the article as part of the GA sweeps process. I have found some issues with the referencing which need to be addressed if the artcile is to maintain its GA status. They can be found at Talk:The Transformers (IDW Publishing)/GA1. Thanks. Jezhotwells (talk) 16:02, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
