Self criticism
[edit]I know its an unusual thing to do, but I'm a perfectionist you see. Does anybody think that this (my) page is a bit "bloggy". Let me know what you think and I'll be greatful for any tips - by the way: would be greatful if the "newcomer" links were left untouched, thanks. SKC, 03:28 (UTC), September 26th 2006.

Edgar Allan Poe
[edit]Responding to your comment on the talk page for Edgar Allan Poe... Yeah, there's definitely a mysterious visitor to Poe's grave every year. That information was mostly moved to Death of Edgar Allan Poe. Since it's been mentioned on the talk page a couple times, I'll probably add a brief synopsis tomorrow. Someone actually tried adding it earlier, but it was copyrighted text. In the meantime, if you're curious, check out the Death of Edgar Allan Poe as well as Poe Toaster. -Midnightdreary 04:50, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:Vigdís Finnbogadóttir Icelandic President.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Vigdís Finnbogadóttir Icelandic President.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 03:11, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite
[edit]Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
