I have removed the {{NPOV}} tag you added to the Duck the Great Western Engine article becuase you have offered no explanation. When you add a tag of this nature you must explain why you think the on the talk page of the article, so that the article can be improved. If you really do feel that the article is not neutral, then feel free to re-add the template but you must detail why you feel it is not neutral on talk:Duck the Great Western Engine, if you don't then the tag will be removed again. {{CUSD stub}}
As it doesn't indicate that the article it's on is a stub, it might make more sense for other editors if it was moved to some name that doesn't include "stub". Perhaps something like {{CUSD-school}}? --Mairi 05:22, 27 October 2005 (UTC)

Why can't templates be inside templates?
- They cause extra load on Wikipedia's servers, which are already often in danger of overload due to the size of the site. See Wikipedia:Avoid using meta-templates for more info. Grutness...wha? 04:47, 31 October 2005 (UTC)

Giants
What comment??? Wahkeenah 15:01, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
OK, you're talking about the LaTroy Hawkins comment. You must never have seen him pitch. We suffered through several years of this guy's "relief" pitching in Minnesota and Chicago, where he was reviled by fans in both cities for his inability to hold a lead. I haven't followed the trade wires lately. Is he still with the Giants? If so, he's still your problem. Meanwhile, you also failed to read my response, which is that calling an editorial comment on the talk page "vandalism" is inflammatory and you'll get the flames right back. If you had said "outside the scope of the discussion", that might be debatable, but it's not inflammatory. Wahkeenah 15:23, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
Yes, I get it. I also have seen LaTroy Hawkins pitch.
I wonder if you could consider supporting this article at Wikipedia:Article Improvement Drive. Its an important place, where we all go by ambulance if we are very ill, and, I think, worthy of a comprehensive article.--File Éireann 21:22, 9 November 2005 (UTC)

...is clearly a copyright violation, and one of the most blatant I've seen, so it should have been listed at WP:CP instead of WP:AFD. I've gone ahead and done so for this article. —Cryptic (talk) 16:01, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
Cupertino Middle School
Using XD allows anyone to fix an article and then remove the tag. An article that only has a template is not an article. If this was left, it would have been on AfD and probably would be deleted. By moving it off to the side, it can be made a good article and then restored. XD does not loose any of what was available. Forcing a school to AfD, which the article as created would have done, would not help the effort to reduce contention over keeping schools. Vegaswikian 06:18, 19 November 2005 (UTC)
- Actually that template provides enough context for an stub article but it makes it more difficult to improve, because the intro text can't be edited. Kappa 06:24, 19 November 2005 (UTC)

'No Ads' - you're joking, right mr 'sfgiants'?
If not, where do you draw the line? Is a site discussing a company like Intel or IBM an ad? A site about the SF Giants? Oh gosh - no, that's already being promoted, in your ID. (Oh no, that's sports, no promotion there) :) - Sorry, but the No Ad rant always seemed a little duplicitous to me. Me, an A's/Raiders man from Oak-town. --Barrettmagic 01:51, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

SFG 40-man roster
Hello SFG. Please take a look of the Red Sox, Pirates, Marlins or Mets rosters. There's a count for each position and the roster is rearranged to show the entire 40-man, not just 25. There is no disabled list and extended roster in offseason. The 40-man roster is comprised of all of the players on the 25-man roster, anyone who is on the 15-day disabled list, and minor leaguers who usually have played three or more professional seasons. Players who are on the 60-day disabled list are not on the 40-man roster. A team may recall players that are on the 40-man roster that are not on the 25-man roster during the regular season. The 25-man roster is the roster that the major league team is comprised of. Players on the 25-man roster are eligible to play in a major league game. A team's roster may consist of 40 players until Opening Day, when the number must be reduced to 25 until September 1st, when it again becomes 40. For more info about SFG 40-man roster you can check at [1]. Feel free to work as you wish. Good luck! – MusiCitizen 00:23, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
- Good work! Last transactions, uniform number changes and some edit were added. If you get some time, could you collaborate with other roster pages? Your contributions to baseball pages are very welcome. Cheers – MusiCitizen 14:23, 19 December 2005 (UTC) [ talk ]

Roster categories
Hi. I see you added categories to all of the various MLB rosters. The problem is now every page that includes those pages also go into the categories so New York Mets was in Category:MLB team rosters which isn't right. I did a test and it looks like you can simply wrap the category in a <noinclude> and only the roster article itself will go into the category. (I tried it with New York Mets roster). What do you think? wknight94 02:48, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- Oh, thanks. I had a lot of things to do, and overlooked that. ςפקιДИτς ☺ ☻ 02:50, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
Baseball on Wikicities
Hi SFGiants, Googie Man here and I wanted to ask you something as a fellow baseball fan on Wikipedia. Jimbo and Angela have made a new webstie called Wikicities. This link in particular will take you to the baseball Wikicity. As you'll see it's similar to Wikipedia, but my hope is this will allow baseball fans to do more and different things, like reporting on games, in depth statistics, create mulitple pages for pictures, and whatever else baseball fans care to create. You've done a lot of great work on Wikipedia, and I was hoping you could help get this baseball Wikicity off the ground. Please let me know what you think either at my talk page, or you can email me at terry@wikia.com. Thanks! Googie Man(Talk), 20:35, 4 January 2006.
Top 15 of 500 MLB Players
SFGiants, no need to apologize for being critical, because debate is exactly what will be fun for visitors about this top 500 list. My hope is that all users will end up putting their two cents worth on the discussion page of this list. I'll keep your criticims in mind, and by all means, make changes as you see fit. All the best, Googie man 23:58, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
Good suggestion - I'll make you an admin. Aranda56, Jimbo Wales and I are the admins. so far. Googie man 00:19, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
An Esperanzial note
As I remember, the last spam that was handed out was on the 20th of December last year, so I think it's time for another update. First and foremost, the new Advisory Council and Administrator General have been elected. They consist of myself as Admin General and FireFox, Titoxd, Flcelloguy and Karmafist as the Advisory Council. We as a group met formally for the first time on the 31st of Decembe. The minutes of this meeting can be found at WP:ESP/ACM. The next one is planned for tonight (Sunday 29 January) at 20:30 UTC and the agenda can be found at WP:ESP/ACM2.
In other news, Karmafist has set up a discussion about a new personal attack policy, which it can be found here. Other new pages include an introductory page on what to do when you sign up, So you've joined Esperanza... and a welcome template: {{EA-welcome}} (courtesy of Bratsche). Some of our old hands may like to make sure they do everything on the list as well ;) Additionally, the userpage award program proposal has become official is operational: see Wikipedia:Esperanza/User Page Award to nominate a userpage or volunteer as a judge. Also see the proposed programs page for many new proposals and old ones that need more discussion ;)
Other than that, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and wish you an Esperanzially good new WikiYear :D Thank you! --Celestianpower háblame 16:57, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

Participant alert regarding Wikiproject on Advertising
The Wikiproject No Ads, created as a backlash against the Answers.com deal, has served an important function in providing a space for users to express their disagreement with the Foundation proposal. While the current controversies about userboxes raise questions about political and social advocacy on Wikipedia, there should be greater flexibility regarding advocacy about Wikipedia in the Wikipedia namespace. Reported and linked by Slashdot and other press sources as a unique and spontaneous occurence in Wikipedia history, it has apparently had some impact as, despite being scheduled to begin in January, not a peep has been heard about the trial and proposed sponsored link since the deal's controversial announcement months ago. Currently, however, there is an attempt to delete the project or move it off Wikipedia altogether. Since the Foundation has provided no additional information and has not attempted to answer the specific questions that participants in the project raised, it is unclear if the Answers.com deal has been abandoned or simply delayed. Until the situation becomes more clear, I believe the group should still have a place in the Wikipedia namespace. Sincerely, Tfine80 00:12, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
User box
Hi. Template:User wishful has been nominated for speedy deletion under the new criterion. I've removed the speedy deletion tag in an attempt to slow the pace of things, but if you could remove it from your user page as a show of good faith that would be great. Thanks,

Another Esperanzial note...
Hi again Esperanzians! Well, since our last frolic in the realms of news, the Advisory Council has met twice more (see WP:ESP/ACM2 and WP:ESP/ACM3). As a result, the charter has been ammended twice (see here for details) and all of the shortcuts have been standardised (see the summary for more details). Also of note is the Valentines ball that will take place in the Esperanza IRC channel on the 14th of February (tomorrow). It will start at 6pm UTC and go on until everyone's had enough! I hope to see you all there! Also, the spamlist has been dissolved - all Esperanzians will now recieve this update "newsletter".
The other major notice I need to tell you about is the upcoming Esperanza Advisory Council Elections. These will take place from 12:00 UTC on February 20th to 11:59 UTC on February 27th. The official handing-over will take place the following day. Candidates are able to volunteer any time before the 20th, so long as they are already listed on the members list. Anyone currently listed on the memberlist can vote. In a change since last time, if you have already been a member of the leadership, you may run again. Due to the neutrality precident, I will not vote for anyone.
Yours, as ever, Esperanzially,

Thanks for the point you made on Talk:Democratic response to 2006 State of the Union address. I've been making this arguement for a while, but several users continue to insist that the content is "unreferenced" and is "original research." KI 01:37, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

A short Esperanzial update
As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.
Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
