Speedy deletion nomination of Presbyphonia
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Presbyphonia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.cuh.org.uk/sites/default/files/publications/PIN2465_presbyphonia_v2.pdf. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. PamD 11:17, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
References
[edit]I am puzzled by some of the references you have added to the new version of Presbyphonia. You include "Lee Akst. Director, Johns Hopkins Voice Center. Interview conducted by phone June 10, 2014.". Do you mean that you spoke to this person yourself? If not, if this is a reference from another work, then you must cite the work in which you found the information, not the interview. Similarly with all the other references; cite them only if you yourself have consulted the work. If its a reference found elsewhere, cite the work where you found it.
What about "Goodman, A. (2008). Retrieved on 17/10/13 from: enttoday.org"? Were you working on this topic three years ago? Or is this someone else's reference?
And the very first reference: "American Academy of Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery. (n.d.). The Voice and Aging. Retrieved March 06, 2016". Is it a website, in which case you need to give us the URL. If it is a book, it needs author or editor, and page.
Please only cite references which you yourself have consulted. Thanks. PamD 09:34, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
- So did you actually look at the references you cite as numbers 3, 4 and 5? They are surprisingly identical to the references given in https://www.verywell.com/what-is-presbyphonia-2223346, though I see that you no longer claim to have conducted an interview by phone. As I said above, the sources you cite should be the sources where you have found the information. If you found your information in a patient-oriented website like "Very Well",[1] don't pretend that you have found it in academic journals. PamD 14:00, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
- And your references 4 and 10 to Kendall's paper can't both be right: they disagree on the volume number. When you cite books, please give us the page number where you found the information. PamD 14:04, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
- Other references appear to have been lifted from http://www.entwellbeing.com.au/what-is-presbyphonia/. PamD 07:36, 6 September 2016 (UTC)

Draft article
[edit]Please do not move your draft article to main space yourself. Please tell your classmates as well.
These articles need to be checked thoroughly for compliance with WP policies before they are moved to mainspace - violations of copyright are of particular concern.
I put an WP:AFC tag on the draft article - you can submit it whenever you are ready by clicking the "submit" button on the draft article. After you do, someone will review it, and respond to you. Please make sure there is nothing copy/pasted from any references before you do! We take copyright very seriously. Thanks! Jytdog (talk) 07:30, 24 October 2016 (UTC)
