Images in Kashmir

if could explain your point of view and why do you think that image i added to kashmir is inappropriate--Race911 (talk) 11:07, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

Bollywood name move

What part of the discussion do you think is not serious and just a joke? Yes I have used humor to emphasise my point but I am very serious about the fact that Bollywood in no way is the right name for the topic. I would be really sorry if you think that my opinion warrants blocking me from edits. 67.154.172.34 (talk) 01:07, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

Wikimedia India chapter

Sbc, it was good to meet you yesterday. Here is what you had asked for, Wikimedia India. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 05:19, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

Your question

Hello... thanks for the note. Unfortunately, while I have every confidence that your intentions were good when sourcing that link, the author in question (Anil K. Rajvanshi) has a history of attempting to use Wikipedia for self-promotion. Using the account Akraj, as well as a series of sockpuppets and IPs, Rajvanshi has posted links to his personal writings, added self-promotional text promoting his ventures, and used links to editorials and opinions he has written as "references" for this text. For this, and other related disruptive behaviours, his editing privileges have been revoked, his accounts have been blocked, and links to his material are discouraged by both the India project and the spam filters. (Hence the removal of the link you had posted.) Please feel free to ask if you have additional questions about this matter. --Ckatzchatspy 09:06, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

Rajvanshi has attempted to link to this same page on several occasions in the past. It is what the publisher considers as a "general article", rather than a research paper, and is aimed at readers outside of the scientific field. One key thing to note is that these articles are user-submitted; that is to say, Rajvanshi would have written it himself and submitted it for publication, as opposed to the journal commissioning it. Per their disclaimer,

"All articles published in Current Science, especially editorials, opinions and commentaries, letters and book reviews, are deemed to reflect the individual views of the authors and not the official points of view, either of the Current Science Association or of the Indian Academy of Sciences."

Beyond that, use of the material would only serve to vindicate his actions, and encourage him to continue. (He still resurfaces every few weeks or months, under a new account or more often an IP, to post links to his material.) --Ckatzchatspy 09:38, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
No problem. I actually appreciate it when editors ask questions as you did; one, it helps to allay their concerns, and two, it helps me to review the event to make sure it is OK. So, "thanks!" Cheers. --Ckatzchatspy 09:54, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

Inserting images into Tables Delhi Metro

Please do not insert images into tables. Tables are for tabular data not for images. Thanks for maintaing Delhi Metro Page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Iapain wiki (talkcontribs) 12:26, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

Man, no praise is sufficient for the work you are doing to save the article. Thanks a lot. Unfortunately, i do not have any time to improve the article.Hopefully, it will retain the FA status thanks to your excellent edits. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 17:17, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Kannada literature in the Kingdom of Mysore

Are you going to have time for this in addition to the work on Darjeeling and Flag of India? This one needs a lot of source verification. It's been under review for a month now, so it's probably time for me to close the review process. cheers. -SpacemanSpiff 08:07, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

RFA supports

It is standard for nominators to add their !votes in the support column at RFAs, (except when the candidate self-nominates)- usually their votes are among the first 5-10 and helps to seed the section. RegentsPark and I just happened to have held off our statements a bit - and, no we didn't coordinate this (though RP's WP:100 vote did remind me that I had not yet added my name.). Cheers. Abecedare (talk) 17:53, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Fair enough, if that's general policy. It just seemed a bit redundant to me, and the timing was suspect (given the WP:100). And yeah, right, I believe you and RP didn't coordinate that one :-) BTW, have added my support separately. Regards, SBC-YPR (talk) 15:19, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
I don't think there is any explicit policy on nominators listing their vote in the support section; it is just common practice to cast that redundant vote (FWIW, the practice at AFDs is the opposite, with nominators not casting a separate "delete" vote). I think the practice arose to make it easier to tabulate the support percentage in templates like WP:RFXR, but that is just a guess. Cheers. Abecedare (talk) 15:31, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

Delhi metro

Well I don't promote Delhi metro or the govt. but I think that putting content without proper context is going to help in developing content on Wikipedia. It will only add to the chaos which the page seems to be in. If somebody has to add criticism for the topic then a proper heading can be added within the page. It would help in developing the style of content for pages about India. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tarunuee (talkcontribs) 22:45, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Great! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tarunuee (talkcontribs) 13:41, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads-up, the Delhi Metro map has been updated. The line colors for Line 1 and the Airport Express still need to be fixed though... Jpatokal (talk) 16:38, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Looking good! A slightly darker shade of yellow for the Line 1 labels would make it more legible though. The map also needs a few other tweaks:
* Blue Lin extension is to Dwarka Sec 21, not 22
* Airport Express is missing the Airport-Dwarka Sec 21 extension and the NH-8 station.
* Green Line "Patel Nagar" should be Satguru Ramsingh Marg

Indian administered Kashmir

Look at this dif [2] I see that you have removed mention of india administering Kashmir and just simply stated it as "Jammu and Kashmir" while calling Azad Kashmir in Pakistan "Pakistan administered Kashmir" both are administered not just Pakistans portion taking into account that Indian controlled kashmir is where all the human rights violations occur you should change this thats why I have made a earlier edit on the railway please be more neutral and less Patriotic about India cheers Shreeramos1 (talk) 12:43, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

Homesexuality in India

SBC-YPR, every revision that I made to the Homosexuality in India page was supported by reliable references. Did you not read the page carefully before making your edits? You said "incorrect information" so what is incorrect about it? Go to this page and look at the edits and you will see that all were supported. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Homosexuality_in_India&action=history I would appreciate a swift response, before I consider, if necessary, taking this up the ladder for grievances to editors above you. Thank you. Myk60640Myk60640 (talk) 15:00, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
