To one of the most active editors in Japan project space
WikiProject Japan Barnsensu Award | ||
Over 170,000 edits to over 36,000 pages since 2006—mainly in Japan project space—is quite an achievement. You are #52 on the list of most prolific editors as of 7 Jan. 2013. LittleBen (talk) 03:27, 2 March 2013 (UTC) |
Request
You are concerning about 4Chan's involvement in the MLP:FIM fandom lately. Can you review and check the entire My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fandom article also?
An essay posted at Autostraddle is being cited in Marceline the Vampire Queen and possibly other Adventure Time-related articles. But I feel that this one is a personal opinion that does not fit the RS policy. I remember the user who cited this one even tried to cite TV Tropes wiki. Anyway, can you check if this citation should be removed or not? JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 14:40, 2 March 2013 (UTC)
Second Express Pass on The Amazing Race 22
Two IP editors from Ottawa in Canada had put the purple Express Pass icon which Dave/Connor used on the leg. But, Jessica/John gave the pass to them on their flight from Bora Bora to Christchurch [1]. I reverted it back.
Also. It's back again ([2]) due to a disruptive editing. The purple Express Pass icon are always use for the team who won the pass in every season. ApprenticeFan work 23:46, 4 March 2013 (UTC)
Question
Why did you remove the UK air dates for Pokémon episodes on 31st January? I'm sure there was a legitimate reason and I'm not complaining in any way as you are obviously a very experienced user, I'm just simply curious as to how removing information is constructive. Sorry if I'm bothering you Jaaaammeessss (talk) 15:09, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
- Because all that's really necessary on Wikipedia and that template is the "First English airdate". The UK airdates were added only recently (they were already absent on several earlier season lists) and it is not necessary to have them (and the Australia ones on several pages) when simply the Japanese and American airdates will suffice. After all, it's a Japanese anime dubbed in the U.S.—Ryulong (琉竜) 15:28, 11 March 2013 (UTC)

Unblock request for which you were blocking admin
There is an unblock request at User_talk:Neo. and you were the blocking administrator. It's a user that was blocked in 2007, but I thought it best to notify you of it so you had the opportunity to act on it if you wish. NativeForeigner Talk 21:27, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

- I understand that, I just wanted to make you aware. I don't have a ton of experience with unblock requests and just stumbled upon it. NativeForeigner Talk 22:03, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
- His unblock request does not acknowledge the reason he has been blocked so it is not suitable anyway.—Ryulong (琉竜) 23:46, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

Alex Eckelberry
I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Alex Eckelberry, which you proposed for deletion. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! Jehochman Talk 12:52, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
- It's been like 2 weeks since I tagged it. It should have been deleted already.—Ryulong (琉竜) 13:45, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
- Twas, so I had to undelete it to remove the tag. Remember, there is no deadline. Let's see how the AfD plays out. I'm not going to take a position; we'll see what other editors think. I was contacted by a newbie editor who was sad about the deletion, so I helped things along procedurally and notified you so that you could nominate it for deletion if you wished. This is all quite a normal and thoughtful way to handle things. Jehochman Talk 00:39, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
- Based on the situation at the AFD, I'd say the newbie editor has a stake, personal or otherwise, in the retention of the page.—Ryulong (琉竜) 05:21, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
- That may be, but that does not necessarily mean they are wrong. We just need to be skeptical and look for independent verification. One more thing, you suggested [3] not to add bare urls as references. For newcommers who don't understand how to format a reference, it is very good that they at least provide the url. Then we can at least know where to look. You might go to the newbie and leave them some sample wikicode for formatting so that the burden does not fall on you to reformat them. Jehochman Talk 13:26, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
- I've informed the user on his talk page of {{cite web}}.—Ryulong (琉竜) 14:23, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
- Hello, I'm Alex Eckelberry. Someone put up a page for me, it grew and that was nice, but I really don't care if it's up or not. It's actually just a professional embarrassment to have people arguing over whether I'm notable or not. Since you were apparently instrumental in deleting my page, I'd like to correct or amplify on a few comments I saw on the delete page, only for the record.
- Julie Amero: I was not "peripherally involved" with the Julie Amero case. I was central to the case. She was going to be a convicted felon otherwise. That's the simple truth and can be verified with anyone involved, including Julie herself.
- My involvement in security: To answer your question, I wrote many things that I researched on my own. I also worked closely with our security teams and often wrote of many things that they did, and always very clearly sourced their involvement. I was not a "spokesman", nor a professional hack. Because I was a CEO, it's might be assumed that i was just some finance guy. That is not the case. I was a person doing a lot of work in an area where there were many fascinating developments. I am still active, such as as a board member of StopBadware. So Ryulong, hopefully this puts your questions to rest.
- There are other things that are probably notable, especially my work in the field of the environment. Whatever.
- So again, I'm not in the least offended or concerned the page got yanked. I am, however, impressed with the conscientiousness of the Wikipedia community, and the fact that you even put the effort in to see if I was even worth being on or not. Alexeckelberry (talk) 12:35, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
- We here at Wikipedia deemed that you did not pass our strict inclusion requirements as several of the items that were being used to purport your notability were not up to par. Yes, you are a major figure in the information security field, however the internal policies such as WP:ENTREPRENEUR and WP:GNG preclude yourself from inclusion on this website. Your friends' and colleagues' rush to the deletion discussion to try to sway the non-existent vote also did not help. However, I will courtesy blank the deletion discussion.—Ryulong (琉竜) 12:44, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

- Alex, for what it's worth, having a Wikipedia page is more of an albatross than a bluebird. It's less work not to have to monitor the page for constant vandalism or attacks. (If you don't have enemies, you don't have character, right? Especially for those who work in computer security.) Jehochman Talk 13:28, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
- I agree completely Jehochman. And thanks Ryulung. Alexeckelberry (talk) 13:33, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

Power Rangers character pages and more
You have done a good job for the character pages for the Post-Zordon Era shows. A suggestion for the "Power Rangers in Space" character page is to have all the monsters that debuted in that show under Astronema's group while listing the other villains that appeared in the show under the Returning Villains section. When it comes to the List of Power Rangers Megaforce characters, some of the Warstar Insectoids still have the traits of the insects they were based off of. How else can we describe them? Rtkat3 (talk) 12:04, March 22 2013 (UTC)
- You can say "looks like a bee" but any of the more complex ones that we only had to figure out from anagraming the Japanese on Goseiger you avoid saying what they are completely.—Ryulong (琉竜) 18:50, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
Province and Domain
There is an "under construction" headnote at Ryūkyū Province and Ryūkyū Domain. There are also small changes at History of the Ryukyu Islands#Satsuma domination, 1609-1871 and at History of the Ryukyu Islands#Ryūkyū Domain, 1872–1879. Please comment. --Ansei (talk) 16:11, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
- The pages are too identical because it seems that Domain and Province were one in the same for pretty much their entire history.—Ryulong (琉竜) 18:49, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
