What the fuck is wrong with it THIS TIME? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.192.115.115 (talk) 05:09, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

lol, I made a recreation of it on SVG (Nod and GDI). "Copyrighted images that are recreated, still belongs to the original owner." might be right. Kalamrir added a fair use rationale. Hope it's enough to validate the image(s) existence. -- ...RuineЯ|Chat... 16:56, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Persistence

It was discussed a long time ago - before I was even an account member here! Why are you so persistent in having the article merged? Wilhelmina Will (talk) 03:55, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Oh, I see.

Well, as long as you didn't want the article merged yourself, I have no qualms with you on it. But even if it does get merged, the image of Ducky can still be used, right? I uploaded that one, see, and I'm very protective of articles and files I have created. Wilhelmina Will (talk) 18:38, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

I noticed that you reverted Template:Production I.G to the standard style format[1] with the edit summary "Styles are not recommended, only use colors if they are necessary". In the past when creating navboxes I've tried to style them to fit with the topic they describe - based on my experience of seeing others such as Template:Matrix, Template:Botany, etc. Is this generally discouraged? I'm not sure if non-standard colours would ever be neccessary (at least in terms of functionality) but don't they may help add to the character and design of an article? Any chance you could point me to the appropriate style guideline that deals with the issue so that I can work with it in mind in the future? Regards, Guest9999 (talk) 00:57, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Re: Do not remember...

Well, that is mostly because topics may be interesting for the users of a language, but not for the users of others. Or they may have different standards (like requiring shorter articles) or focus on different things (some languages may have decided to focus in a few points, while others may have decided to focus in a lot of points, making it harder to get it to featured). For example, the article about France is considered featured in Cebuano and Esperanto. I haven't really checked a lot, but the article about Che Guevara is featured in 8 languages, including English. -- ReyBrujo (talk) 01:21, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

If you copy the contents of a featured article in a language to another language, I would say the target article would become much better. I am not sure if enough to be a FA, because you would need to check the wiki featured criteria. Otherwise, people would just translate the featured article of a language to all the others. I think this is what makes every language version unique, and as important as the others regardless of the number of articles they may have. -- ReyBrujo (talk) 02:09, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
You mean, helping translate featured articles from English to another language? Or supporting the translated versions to become featured? -- ReyBrujo (talk) 01:07, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Oh. Well, I could help translating to Spanish, but I am not that interested in doing that (or any other major editing) right now. I just clean up a few things here and there, and keep sales list up to date if possible. Maybe in the future, but right now I just don't have the motivation to do that. As for the image, we will have to wait a week, since the previous images were all valid under our fair use claim and therefore cannot be speedied. -- ReyBrujo (talk) 01:19, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Removing images from tabulated lists

Hi, I have read the rationale for your edit to List of Star Trek characters: A-F. I find it disappointing, as I had accepted the merger of various pages to such lists on the basis that the essential info about the character, including the photo, would be retained in the list. However, your arguments seem watertight on policy grounds, so I have to wince and let the images go. Unlike other lists, at least the Star Trek character list has links to Memory Alpha, so a photo is still only a click away.

Now, if you (we) have to remove the non-free images, and there can never be free images, then the image column is never going to be used. Therefore you might as well remove the column altogether from the table while you are removing the images. I've proposed this at WikiProject Star Trek. Please either wait a few days before doing the same to the other lists, or go ahead and remove the image column from the tables as well as its content. - Fayenatic (talk) 08:40, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Release Date: 22 July 2004 (Thursday)

RE: Request for Copyedit

Thanks for the request to copyedit Super Smash Bros. Brawl. On this occasion, I'm going to say no, for a couple of reasons: firstly, the article seems to be pretty good as it is, and I'm not sure that I would be able to improve it to any significant degree; and secondly because there seems to be some disputes about the content and I would prefer not to be involved in any major edits until the fuss has died down a bit. Images removed by your sock

Hi FMF,

I understand why your bot Project FMF removed the images from my userpage (thats not part of the image license I wrote), but they were there simply in a list of uploaded images of mine. I just wanted to check - is this not allowed? As I understand it I'm not breaking the government's distribution license in anyway by including them in a list of images that I have uploaded...

Cheers --Carbonrodney (talk) 05:41, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

I've edited your sandbox and corrected any remaining problems. I also copyedited the lead while I was at it - I couldn't resist! What do you think?

Queries:

  1. What do you mean by "official" video game in the lead?
  2. "while competing against the others" - who are "the others"? Nousernamesleft (talk) 02:42, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Understood. Yes, the lead is better now. I'll have to take a look at the rest of the article tomorrow. Nousernamesleft (talk) 02:58, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Before I start, I see that the article contradicts the lead - the lead says the DS only has twenty-one events, yet the article explicitly states that both versions have twenty-four. Nousernamesleft (talk) 01:24, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Oops - I was remembering an old version which did say that, I believe. Never mind; I'll start pointing out specific examples. Nousernamesleft (talk) 01:51, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Re: Japanese

No clue, really. Check on current VG FACs which have sales data, and see (Golden Sun does, for instance). Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 14:01, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

Well then you're kinda screwed. (I don't know what Tracking X and Y are more reliable than VGChartz anyhow.) I suggest sending a message to the respective websites asking for a legal garbage and jargon-filled explanation of how they come up with their numbers, and also ask if they refine their numbers based on official published figures (i.e., fact-checking, editorial policy). Then report back at the FAC. Also, putting in the prose "Sales charts site XX reports..." or something like that helps to show that you aren't saying it definitely sold this or that. Ha, yeah, I don't disagree with the redirect though - I don't believe episodes of the show are near notable enough to warrant an article. Plus the whole OR concerns with any analysis - not likely to find relaible sources which study them now are we! - Toon05 16:44, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Refactoring talk pages

I notice you've been refactoring talk pages on some articles I have on my watchlist, but I'm a bit concerned it might be excessive. For instance, this diff shows you are editing other people's spelling and grammar; this seems rather heavy-handed, and I was under the impression (and would agree) that editing someone else's comment is, basically, a bit rude, regardless of whether we like their poor use of spelling/grammar/punctuation. Furthermore it doesn't seem entirely in line with the guidelines at the link you cite with your edit reason (WP:RTP); specifically, such edits don't come under the "how to refactor" section. I agree that shifting comments around and trimming discussion not pertaining to the article certainly improves readability, and even editing the section titles helps navigation, but fiddling with other editors' comments, even if meant in good faith, seems to me just a step too far. Actually, Thibbs got a bunch wrong. I think what it's saying is that once you pick your software (game) the 1000 points are immediately awarded. It's not 「すぐた」, it's 「すぐに」. The message underneath says something like, for customers who have logged into the DSi shop and buy something. And I believe the offer expires on Mar 2010, and you can only do it once. I think. GamePro review

Well, I realize the flaws, but it's that fact that it's a review from a normally accepted source which is the problem. I don't want the review in the article at all since it was so badly written compared to the others, but I fear if I take it out, someone else will add it back in and say "We need to keep all opinions in mind and balance the reception section." I mean, if I did anything more to tell readers that that particular review should be taken with a (boulder-sized) grain of salt, that would technically be me interpreting the review. I already intend to phase that review out once more are available, but do you think I should (and can) remove it now? -- Commdor {Talk} 21:01, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Well, I took it out anyway. The review is just way too contradictory and misleading to be of any informative value to the average reader of the article. We aren't required to add in every review anyway, so this will just have to one of those that fall to the wayside. -- Commdor {Talk} 21:54, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
