Information icon Hello, I'm Joseph2302. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Jilly Curry, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Sources say she was born in 1964 Joseph2302 (talk) 11:48, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Joseph. Yes, Jilly's year of birth has been wrong for some time. She was born 29/11/1959. It is my wife by the way. Honestly she rather liked it being wrong, was funny, but it is not 1964, or 1963 as has been reported, it is 1959. I can provide a photo of Jilly's passport as evidence. Or insurance documents.
Also see today she just became World Champion in the Over-60's https://www.uipmworld.org/event/uipm-2022-laser-run-world-championships?event=laser-run-women-masters-60
Thanks for letting me know how to make this correct.
Regards

That's an odd one even the TeamGB page has her year of birth different again at 1963. Wikipedia uses reliable sources as a reference, are you aware of any sources that have her DOB correct? We could refer to those in making the change. Glen (talk) 12:46, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, exactly, her YOB is reported differently in different places. I've seen it as 1961, 1962, 1963 and 1964. Like many women she's had some fun occasionally deliberately getting it wrong, particularly to the press. It's a British tradition to never ask a woman her age. She won't be the only one!
I don't think there will be a reliable resource online. As mentioned to Joseph I can send a pic of her passport or driving licence or an insurance document. Also looking at the 1990 printed edition of Debrettt's Distinguished People of Today (ISBN 1 870520 03 3) there is an entry for her father, TPE Curry QC (b 22 July 1922), with reference to his 4 children and their years of birth "Guy b1952, Iain b 1953, Fleur 1956, Jilly 1959"
I can send scans of that publication.
Thanks
