This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Subject fails WP:NPOL, WP:ANYBIO, and WP:GNG. Just because someone is a candidate in a political race does not make them notable. Sources that are mere mentions, or only talk about the subject as a candidate running when the coverage is on the race doesn't connote notability. We need to see sources that talk about the person in-depth. Wikipedia is also not an advertising platform for the campaign nor are we a public-service for voters.

Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Hi Chris! Don Samuels is not just a candidate running for office; I simply mentioned that because the primary he is running in is underway. He was also a member of the Minneapolis School Board and a Minneapolis City Council Member, as mentioned in the article. Is there anything else I can help clarify? Thank you!
