Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition was deleted under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text—which means allowing other people to modify it—then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later, and the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License." You may also e-mail or mail the Foundation to release the content. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more.

While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Note that the article also, rather clearly, fell under CSD G11, as patent advertising.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 23:46, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sigma Chi Omega, Multicultural Fraternity, Inc. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The article Sigma Chi Omega: List of Brothers Brothers has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NOT#DIRECTORY

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ironholds (talk) 02:02, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article was not deleted because somebody doesn't believe your fraternity is important - it was deleted because it violates copyright law. Please read WP:COI and WP:NOT#DIRECTORY. Ironholds (talk) 02:03, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:SigmaChiOmegaCrest.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 19:00, 30 April 2011 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ~~EBE123~~ talkContribs 19:00, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:SigmaChiOmegaCrest.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 02:07, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning; the next time you remove a file deletion tag from the file description page of a Wikipedia file without resolving the problem that the tag refers to, as you did at File:SChiOGriffin.jpg, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Request reason:

I resolved the issue by providing a non-free logo licensing information on these images and I was blocked which I believe to be unnecessary and I believe I should be unblocked

Decline reason:

Please ask one of the image tagging editors for further advice after your block expires. It is best if you don't presume to have fixed the image problem before asking an experienced person whether you are correct. You also warred to remove the 'advert' tag from the article at Sigma Chi Omega, Multicultural Fraternity, Inc. I hope it has crossed your mind that the tag could have been put there for a reason, and you should have a discussion before removing it. EdJohnston (talk) 03:16, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Sigma Chi Omega, Multicultural Fraternity, Inc. is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sigma Chi Omega, Multicultural Fraternity, Inc. until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Sven Manguard Wha? 07:19, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-Free content in userspace

[edit]

The rules don't permit use of non-free content in user space. Your userfied verison of the article is just that.

See Wikipedia:NFCC point 9.

Continuing to restore those images to your userspace, will not prevent the images from being deleted if unused and could be see as disruptive. Please do not do so again. --82.7.44.178 (talk) 18:50, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free content again

[edit]

Please read the WP:NFCC non-free content criteria. You cannot just add non-free images to pages in an attempt to stop them being deleted, if they don't meet the criteria then we remove them.

Your current behaviour of re-adding to userspace and inappropriately adding them to articles is not acceptable on wikipedia. Consensus appears to be that the organisation in question doesn't meet our notability guidelines for articles. If you cannot accept that consensus and continue to attempt to subvert the process, then that becomes disruptive and may lead to having your editing privileges removed again, and probably for an extended period.

As a side note, my experience on articles people wish to create but don't meet the criteria, the worst thing to do is to keep on and on at it. This just tends to just attract scrutiny and that (quite possibly unfairly) makes it harder still to get an article in place. If you truly wish to see an article on this subject then you should accept that it isn't ready just yet, spend some time understanding why that is (and I mean truly understanding why that is, not picking on one point). Don't attempt to recreate it (especially not trying to circumvent salting by using another title) until you are really 200% certain it meets the relevant standards. Better yet at that point talk to some experienced editors first and get their view. --82.7.44.178 (talk) 11:13, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
