Speedy deletion nomination of Sydney city removalists
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Sydney city removalists, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Cahk (talk) 08:50, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
Sydney removalists article
[edit]Hello, thank you for writing this article! I have a few concerns about it and wanted to discuss them with you:
- I’m a bit concerned that this company might not be notable enough to qualify for a Wikipedia article. That link goes to a guide, but basically any coverage of a company on here is supposed to be based on being covered in reliable sources, like newspapers, in the form of full articles and not just things like business listings.
- A lot of it reads like a press release or promotional copy, not a factual encyclopaedia article.
Are there any extra citations you can add from reliable sources like news articles about this company demonstrating that it's notable? (Those are links to guides explaining this in more detail.) I'm concerned since the article may get deleted otherwise. Let me know if you have any thoughts or questions about this. Blythwood (talk) 13:51, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry - didn't see any additions and thought you'd gone. The problem with the article is a lack of citations to reliable sources. What news articles mention this company? What books write about it? What TV news bulletins has it featured on? The policy for whether a company's article can be kept, at WP:CORP, is what I'm looking for matching when I read a new article. (Just to be clear, I'm not in charge around here! I'm just some person having a lunch break on the other side of the world - I just see if the article matches that policy.)
