Managing a COI and Terms of Use
Hello Rtt11 I'm not sure if this applies to you, but since an article you created has been tagged with a COI tag, I wanted to make sure that you are aware of the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use regarding paid contributions. Please see Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure. All the best, Mduvekot (talk) 18:56, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
- Hey Mduvekot! Do you have any idea why the COI would be added? I just went through a lot of concerns a different editor had with the page a little over a week ago and everything seemed okay until today. I don't know the subject personally, but I thought maybe the person could have put COI because of the sources that were autobiographical in nature? Maybe they thought that I was the subject of the article writing about myself? You tagged some of the autobiographical sources as unreliable, which I was really confused about because I was using them for the early life section, so I thought it would be okay (because of this). So now I'm not sure what I can do! I don't want to delete that material from the early life section because I think it makes the article way more informative. Any tips would be appreciated, because I've put a ton of work into this article, and I thought everything was good after I deleted the unreliable sources that another editor pointed out. Thanks!! - Hello Rtt11 Well, I think you may have been writing a a way that is very similar to how undisclosed paid editors write. My guess is that nobody wants to accuse you outright, but you do display all the characteristics of someone who have been paid by the subject or a representative of the subject. If you really do not have a WP:COI (please read that carefully and want the tag removed, what you could do is post a message on the talk page of the article in question that you have not been paid in any way, and have no connection to the subject whatsoever. Mduvekot (talk) 19:40, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
- Rtt11, just to clarify, I added a COI because it is clear you were being paid to write the article. Please be aware of the disclosure requirements. Wikipedia does permit paid editing, but under the Terms of Use it is required that you disclose your connection to the subject. - Bilby (talk) 19:56, 27 July 2017 (UTC)
- As you'll have seen from my edit summaries, disclosing does not mean that a {{coi}} should not be added to an article - quite the opposite in fact. As the documentation explains, the template should not be removed from articles where you have a COI. Regarding your question to Bilby "Is it okay to be a paid editor?" you should be aware that while it is "okay" it is a highly controversial area and many editors do not agree with any form of promotional paid editing such as you have been doing. The article Aviation Performance Solutions has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This company has not attracted any coverage outside of specialist industry publications. As such, I do not think that it is sufficiently notable to meet WP:CORP.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. SmartSE (talk) 13:37, 30 July 2017 (UTC)
The article Kelly England Prehn has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable person. Coverage is exclusively gossip-like in nature.

Further on COI in Wikipedia
Hi Rtt11 - I saw your note at Smartse's page disclosing that you have edited for pay.
I also looked at your userpage and saw that: 1) you don't disclose that you edit for pay there, and 2) you say that you want to be a new page reviewer. That is... alarming. Would you be open to a discussion about paid editing in WP? There is a lot to go over, and talking we can do that more efficiently. If you are, I am on east coast time US and can talk anytime today.
