Man from Nantucket
Woo-hoo! After 9 years on Wikipedia I get a "welcome to Wikipedia but don't screw around" Talk page message. I messed up a newbie-vandal revert on There Once was a Man from Nantucket which is, I assume where it came from. But I will cherish it. - DavidWBrooks (talk) 16:19, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- Actually, my edit was correct and the bot reverted it to the vandalized version. Very confusing. - DavidWBrooks (talk) 16:21, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- I'm very very sorry about that. I truly am. It's worse than it seems. I left a warning on a sysop's talk page. I'm really really sorry. I'll ensure that this never happens again. Sorry. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 17:36, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- No problem at all - glad you're helping patrol articles. The confusion arose, I suspect, because I did one of those automatic reverts on a two-step vandalism, which only undid part of the problem, then I realized that I had to go back in and undo more. It gets kind of confusing in those scenarios; I've had to go back three times and do more undo's to fix complex vandals. - DavidWBrooks (talk) 18:49, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you for forgiving me. I used to do this a lot in 2009, even then I ended up warning an Admin with Huggle accidentally, so he gave me a barnstar. :-) ... I need to catch up on my vandal fighting. I'm old and a bit slow compared to three years back. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 05:03, 1 May 2012 (UTC)

Bad Revert
Hello. If you would read the section on Ramon Tulfo you reverted, it does not make any sense (logically, grammatically). Jethroalfonso (talk) 11:13, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
- You removed data which included several references. As such that is Section Blanking, which is why I reverted it. I've rolled back my own edit for the time being. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 11:27, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for the barnstar! It is an honor to receive one from you. I think editor in question is headed for a block due to the continued copyright issues and reference spam. There might be some sockpuppetry going on, too. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:59, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

Revert of Plotinus Edits
Hello Rsrikanth05 -
You nade a 'Good faith revert' of edits that I made to the Plotinus article. Would you let me know what it is that you object to?
Thanks, PAskesis (talk) 18:17, 8 May 2012 (UTC)PAskesis
- Hi, the statement, contains approximately half of the Enneads was what caused me to revert the edit. Along with that, the link seemed unwanted, however, I had another look at the link, and undid my edit. That statement still seems a bit out of place to me though. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 18:27, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

Rollback Abuse
Hi. If I may just butt in regarding your revert using rollback (and also my edit which you reverted on ORR). As per this you are supposed to use rollback only for blatant vandalism and not for edits you disagree. — Abhishek Talk 14:45, 9 May 2012 (UTC)
- I Specified on your talk page about the ORR revert. I've reverted it for now. As for the BIAL revert, the user removed the marker from the map. He also removed the Airport code from the map, which is what I reverted. I have undone that edit as well. Perhaps you could go thru the edits once. I didn't revert anything I 'disagreed' to. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 16:25, 9 May 2012 (UTC)
- Yes you have. The article history is where the record of the edits are and as per the guidelines you are supposed to use rollback only for reverting vandalism. I never objected to you reverting my edit on ORR (as you can see on my talk) and on BLR too, I did not object to your revert. But the revert was not done in a correct manner. Many editors including me have lost rollback previledges due to such reverts. So this is an advice from me and in no way an offense to you. — Abhishek Talk 16:51, 9 May 2012 (UTC)
