Battle of Hyderabad

[edit]

Please don't revert edits if they correct formatting in articles. You might disagree that I removed the sections on Napier, Outram and the Cheshire Regiment but as all three have their own articles and are linked in this article, they don't need their own sections here. I also corrected all the internal links in the article, which I'm afraid you had linked incorrectly.

Also the second paragraph which is more about the whole campaign of 1843 rather than this one battle is a direct copy and paste from http://www.military-art.com/mall/battles.php?BattleID=40 which is in breach of Wikipedia's policy on copy and paste. There is probably a need for an article on this campaign as one those fascinating sidelights on British Imperial expansion but it needs to be properly written, not cut and pasted from other websites.

You asked on Talk:Battle of Miani how tables of contents are formed. The answer is automatically as long as the article has three or more section headings. NtheP (talk) 21:06, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thanks

Now you've cut and pasted from http://www.lneryoca.org.uk/page_322815.html. Can you at least paraphrase it? In all seriousness if it's discovered that lots of your edits are pastes from other sites, you'll end up banned. NtheP (talk) 16:55, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

can i copy and paste onto word and then copy onto wiki?

Rpriestley

Only if what you eventually add to Wikipedia is your own words and not a direct lift from the source. NtheP (talk) 08:30, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just because you wait a few days does not stop your edit from being a copyvio of http://www.lneryoca.org.uk/page_322815.html again. NtheP (talk) 22:40, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I did not know

A tag has been placed on Sleepers Hill requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.
